MY REVIEW
I, Saul by Jerry B. Jenkins is a fascinating novel. It goes back and forth from modern day Augustine Knox to Saul of Tarsus when he was in prison right before he died. They are connected by Saul’s writings from two-thousand years ago.
This book is full of suspense and intrigue.
I never really thought to much about Saul’s time in prison and how it might have been for him or how his friends might have felt.
Also it shows you how some people will do anything and harm anyone who gets in their way when they find and think they have something priceless’
Jerry B. Jenkins is a master teller of tales, he really gets to the meat of the story and doesn’t add a bunch of nonsense.
Really enjoyed this book and glad I get to review it. Very good and I recommend you to read this fascinating novel.

MY REVIEW
Memory’s Door by James L. Rubart is book two in A Well Spring Novel series. I can’t really explain how much I love this series. It is so full of life, hope, peace, but also has the darker side that will make you think that life isn’t about what we do every day it’s about the spiritual world.
As Christians we are fighting a fight here on earth that is for all eternity.
The Warriors Riding group of four have wars in the supernatural, going inside people’s souls to bring them peace and for them to heal.
All of the Warriors are attacked by something that is very important to them. How the demons try to infiltrate their lives. The demons hit them where it matters the most.
If you never read any other books this year, read the Well Spring Novels by James L. Rubart. They are so very intriguing and suspenseful. Some parts I just don’t know how they will turn out and then James Rubart comes through with an amazing escape. These books are totally worth buying and reading. They will stay on my bookshelf for always. Highly recommended. I hated coming to the end of this book. I wanted it to last for a very long time. This book Memory’s Door is one of my favorites for 2013. One more thing I love the title and how it was displayed in the book. Fantastic!

Critical Pursuit by Janice Cantore A Review

ABOUT CRITICAL PURSUIT

Officer Brinna Caruso has built a reputation at the precinct as the cop to call when a child goes missing. For Brinna, it’s personal because she was once one of them. Brinna and her K-9 search and rescue dog, Hero, will stop at nothing to find a missing child, no matter the stakes.

Detective Jack O’Reilly isn’t ready to return to his homicide duties, after losing his wife to a drunk driver. He’s on the downside of his career, and bent on revenge, when he’s assigned as Brinna’s partner. While on patrol, Jack struggles between his quest for personal justice and his responsibility to those around him, especially his partner.

Skeptical of Jack’s motives, Brinna isn’t sure she can rely on her new partner, whose reckless abandon endangers the safety of those around him. But when a man surfaces with an MO similar to the criminal who abducted Brinna twenty years earlier, Brinna and Jack must cast aside previous judgments and combine efforts to catch the kidnapper, and finally allow Brinna the peace stolen from her as a child.

MY REVIEW
This is the first book I’ve read written by  Janice Cantore and it won‘t be the last.  I love to read novels written by former police officers, doctors, lawyers etc… The information is so accurate and full of life and adventure.
In this book Jack and Brinna both are mad at God or don’t believe He exists.  Twenty years ago Brinna was abducted and left to die. So she wonders why do bad things happen if there is a God. Jack had it all and then a drunk driver took it away. He can’t love a God who destroys the innocent.
They are thrown together as partners for a two week period and in that time many things happen and wake them both up.  Brinna is a crusader for the helpless children who get abducted and Jack is just trying to forget everything.
I really liked this book and especially the ending.  Usually in a book like this when people are thrown together and have been through great loss they always fall in love with each other right away. I find that very hard to believe. How can you really be torn up about your past and then fall in love with the first person who comes along. This ending is superb and I enjoyed this book very much. I recommend Critical Pursuit for very good suspense, edge of your seat ride and a fantastic ending. Police stories are fantastic.

MY REVIEW
Any book by Lauraine Snelling is fantastic and a pleasure to read, but this one Wake the Dawn is just intriguing to read and review.
The characters are so real and full of life and they become so very special to you. I just hate when I finish reading a good book.
Ben James is having so many problems and can’t seem to get interested in life again after the love of his life is ripped away from him, but then a natural disaster rushes in and what can he do but keep on going.
Esther Hanson also has some things to work out in her life and she keeps trying to hide her troubles and keep working, but will that keep the troubles back?
Ben and Esther are thrown together to try to get through this storm. Read this intriguing book and find out what happens.
I really, really loved the storm and am so very glad to have read it. Lauraine Snelling is one of my favorite authors. I highly recommend this book and anything she writes.

MY REVIEW
I really love this website. It is full of such love and hope and all because those who were troubled or broken called out to God and He lifted them up and provides for them daily. As He does for each one of us. It is so wonderful to see people who have struggled with hardships to see them full and whole because of Jesus. Just watching some of the videos is so uplifting. If you have troubles and don’t know where to turn this site will give you hope to go to Jesus. He is the only one who cares and will help you.
The website wants to make more videos, but they need the money to do it. So if you feel lead to help they have something called Give Change, Make Change. Here are a few of the videos I watched. If you don’t want to watch all of them at least watch the first two I listed. It will bless you and cause you to see that no matter what happens God is there.
I highly recommend this beautiful website!

Hope. Peace, Joy. Everyone wants these qualities in our lives. When they are absent, it is sad. When you never had them, life is hell.
From the time he was born until high school, David Ring experienced one setback after another. Stillborn, he was left for dead, yet he lived. Born broken, and “walking and talking funny” he could not fit in. Both his parents died while he was young.

A popular Kansas City tattoo artist, “Whispering Danny” has an impactful story that he should shout for all to hear. But he can’t. His medical condition requires him to have tumors on his larynx and vocal cords removed every three or so months. It leaves his voice at a level just louder than a whisper.
However, the weight of his story speaks volumes anyway

At age thirteen Bethany Hamilton was a rising surfing star. From her home in Hawaii she had everyday access to some of the world’s best waves and basked in the warmth of a loving family. But her tranquil beach surf life was shattered one morning when a shark completely bit off her arm. Only the immediate help of her friends, heroic work by doctors and an overwhelming peace kept her alive in the critical moments after the attack. The fact that she survived was a miracle.

December, 2011 will always be a chilling memory for the Jeff and Cheryl Scruggs family. Their daughter, Lauren Scruggs won’t remember it all. One minute the family was enjoying a dinner out with friends. A few minutes later Cheryl was staring at the the horrific sight of Lauren lying face down in blood on an airport tarmac.

“I could’ve been dead.” Racing at unprecedented speeds to win was the singular focus of Darrell Waltrip. At the peak of his career, he won two consecutive championships. “I was at the top of my game. We were unbeatable.” And while he may have been the best on the track, NASCAR fans hated his ego and it bothered him.

MY REVIEW
The Return of Cassandra Todd by Darrel Nelson has some interesting parts, but parts of it I didn’t care for.
It’s a story about a woman Cassandra who left her husband because he beat her. I believe she should have done that, but should have sought help from other people beside a man she went to school with. That would have been O.K. but they started to have feelings for each other. Since she just left her husband and is a Christian, she should haven’t had fell for another man so fast. I think being a Christian author he shouldn’t have put his characters in this situation. How will people who aren’t Christians see the difference between Christians and non Christians.
The parts I really, I mean really, really loved was the way Turner escaped capture so many times and the ways that he got away. I think that part of the story was the best and I could see many more ideas for stories coming from the escapes. I found those parts quite fascinating. If you do read this book I think the escape parts would be well worth it.
The story line was fine, but did drag in several parts. The ending was O.K., but not what I really liked.

ABOUT SEA SCRIBE
In Sea Scribe by D.I. Telbat, a modern-day action-adventure set in the Pacific and the Sea of Japan, we meet Troy Forge who has been stabbed 47 times. Once a correctional officer, Troy knows how to survive and trust God, but every ounce of his faith is tested as he lives to hate the man who scarred and damaged him for life.

Just days after leaving California's West Coast, the voyage proves to be anything but a smooth trip across the Pacific. Facing many risks and dangers, Troy makes discoveries that change his life forever. And then finally, Troy is presented with the opportunity to harm his attacker.

Contraband smuggler Merrick Jolan is hot after Troy's catamaran to destroy it, or to kill the Christian sailor by way of Jolan's Russian bodyguard, Dmitri Volkov. Ho Kichun—cut off from the outside world—is a networker for the Christian underground inside North Korea. As he travels secretly through the mountainsides serving the persecuted, he prays to meet a covert contact—if Kichun isn't killed by an assassin first!

David studied writing in college, and worked in the newspaper field, but now he is doing what he loves: writing and ministry. He is involved with several ministries, which includes writing and directing Christian plays. When not busy with ministry, he focuses on writing novels, short stories, blog posts, and prison ministry newsletters.

He has kept his home office in the Northwest U.S. where his assistant, Dee, lives and helps with his writing and editing needs.

There is no redemption without sacrifice.

MY REVIEW
Sea Scribe by D.I. Telbat is a fantastic read. It seems with each of D.I. Telbat’s books I read he is becoming one of my favorite authors.
In each book there are several stories in one. I loved all of the different people and stories involved in Sea Scribe, but the part I really did love is the story of Ho Kichun. How he sacrifices and survives on his own, with only the Lords help. It’s amazing the miracles that happens and how he makes it day by day.
Troy and Laura are so different, but when tragedies happen it brings people together. They are really good for each other and learn to depend on each other.
I really like how at the beginning of this story Troy starts out alone, but before the book is over he has a whole host of friends and helpers.
I really love this story it is so full of adventure and suspense. I couldn’t stop reading because it was that good. Even though I couldn’t read it fast enough I didn’t want it to end. What a fantastic author D.I. Telbat is. I highly recommend Sea Scribe. Also I simply LOVED the ending.

MY REVIEW
Courting Emma is book three in the Little Hickman Creek Series by Sharlene MacLaren. I really did enjoy this book. It was full of very nice surprises, twists and turns. I was intrigued by how Emma and the Pastor Jonathan became friends and how they see each other. I was also really involved in finding out what happened between Emma and her father. Also finding out Emma’s fathers background was an eye opener.
The love story between Emma and Jonathan was very sweet and enduring. Not really what I expected.
This story shows us how hard it is to forgive some people in our lives and also to think we aren’t worthy of God’s love. Many life lessons to be learned in Courting Emma.
It is sad, happy, exciting, full of suspense and loads of fun that can be found in this book. I highly recommend this series Little Hickman Creek and this wonderful book of Courting Emma.
