THE PURSUIT OF TAMSEN LITTLEJOHN by Lori Benton A REVIEW

ABOUT THE PURSUIT OF TAMSEN LITTLEJOHN
by Lori Benton

Frontier dangers cannot hold a candle to the risks one woman takes by falling in love

In an act of brave defiance, Tamsen Littlejohn escapes the life her harsh stepfather has forced upon her. Forsaking security and an arranged marriage, she enlists frontiersman Jesse Bird to guide her to the Watauga settlement in western North Carolina. But shedding her old life doesn’t come without cost. As the two cross a vast mountain wilderness, Tamsen faces hardships that test the limits of her faith and endurance.

Convinced that Tamsen has been kidnapped, wealthy suitor Ambrose Kincaid follows after her, in company with her equally determined stepfather. With trouble in pursuit, Tamsen and Jesse find themselves thrust into the conflict of a divided community of Overmountain settlers. The State of Franklin has been declared, but many remain loyal to North Carolina. With one life left behind and chaos on the horizon, Tamsen struggles to adapt to a life for which she was never prepared. But could this challenging frontier life be what her soul has longed for, what God has been leading her toward? As pursuit draws ever nearer, will her faith see her through the greatest danger of all—loving a man who has risked everything for her?

MY REVIEW
The Pursuit of Tamsen LittleJohn by Lori Benton is a fantastic book full of suspense/love/hardships and history.
I really like how Tamsen knows her mind and wants to have the life she has always dreamed of. She doesn’t want her stepfather to run her life. Tamsen runs away from home, but not until a great  tragedy  takes place.
She gets Jesse to help her and protect her. Having Tamsen along just makes Jesse wonder who his real parents are and why was he sent away.
This book is full of twists and turns that you won’t believe. It tells us that God has a plan for everyone of us and that He will lead and guide us.
I love the characters in this beautiful book and how the places and scenes are described.
I highly recommend that you buy and read this marvelous book. You will greatly enjoy it.

One Perfect Spring by Irene Hannon A REVIEW

ABOUT ONE PERFECT SPRING

Independent single mom Claire Summers is doing her best to make lemonade out of the lemons life has handed her. Workaholic Keith Watson is interested only in the bottom line--until a letter from Claire's eleven-year-old daughter reaches his desk and changes everything.

As the executive assistant to a philanthropic businessman, Keith is used to fielding requests for donations. But the girl isn't asking for money. She wants help finding the long-lost son of a neighbor. As Keith reluctantly digs into this assignment in his usual results-oriented style, he has no idea how involved he and Claire will become--nor how unusual the results will actually be. Who could have guessed that a child's kindhearted request would bring love and hope to so many lives . . . including his own?

Through compelling characters and surprising plot twists, fan favorite Irene Hannon offers this tenderhearted story that demonstrates how life is like lilacs--the biggest blooms come only after the harshest winters.

MY REVIEW
One Perfect Spring by Irene Hannon is an excellent book.
I love how the whole book is centered around a letter written by a little girl. How one letter changed the life of  six people/families.
One Perfect Spring talks about the issues of adoption, single parenting, workaholics, cancer and so many other life topics.
David and Keith are workaholics. David’s wife dies and he sees how much he has lost with always being at work and putting his family second. So he is changing and doesn’t want his employee to go down the same path as he did.
Maureen has cancer and it has made he want to get in touch with the son she gave up for adoption many years ago, but can’t find him. Little Haley takes it upon her self to write to a very wealthy man who helps people.
The outcome of this story is amazing. You will see how lives are changed, people fall in love, hearts start to thaw and people seeing what is really important in life. How God will help and is already working in your life.
Very good book. Highly recommended. A wonderful addition to your library.

MY REVIEW
Life Support by Candace Calvert is book three in the Grace Medical series. I love books that are Medical, have major storms, fiction and have romance in them and this book has all three.
In Life Support we see Lauren and Elijah who have a strong sense of accountability to their siblings. Both of the siblings are in some kind of trouble, medical in one form or another. Eli’s brother has had a brain injury. Lauren has a sister Jessica, who may have a metal health illness.
We see how both of them try to protect them and how they try to overcome these things by themselves and don’t let God take control.
The story has a focus on Eli’s daughter and her great faith and how she spreads love and peace to all.
Also in the story we see how injury and pain medication can change a person and make life difficult for all who live through this.
All of these different parts and stories put together make one fantastic story, also through in a some humor and you have a 5-star book. Highly recommend Life Support by Candace Calvert.

MY REVIEW
Sincerely Yours is a book with 4 stories in it by 4 different authors. The authors are Jane Kirkpatrick, Amanda Cabot, Laurie Alice Eakes, and Ann Shorey.
I like books that have several stories in them. You may find a new author that you love or if you don’t like one of them the story isn’t long.
The stories in this book are titled Moonlight Promise by Laurie Alice Eakes. This one I didn’t care much for. The characters weren’t that likable and it seemed to drag in places.
The next one was called Lessons in Love by Ann Shorey.  Another one I didn’t care much for because it seemed silly. Why would someone try to hide she is a woman just so she could write.
One Little Word by Amanda Cabot was one well written and one I enjoyed. I liked it because the characters didn’t let money or family inheritance get in the way of making them happy.
I just loved A Saving Grace by Jane Kirkpatrick. This is a story that I wish would be a lot longer, because it was so good. Jane knows how to write a romantic/suspenseful story that keeps your interest.
Overall this book is well worth reading and keeping. I do recommend it.
