MY REVIEW
Traces of Guilt by Dee Henderson is such an excellent novel. I think this would be an excellent  beginning of a series of the Thane brothers. Each book I read of Dee’s just gets better and better. I love her style of writing. In this novel you meet some new characters but also get  reacquainted with some old ones. Which is something I love. It is always nice to find out what some of our old friends are up to now.
This book is like three stories in one. It covers the cold cases, the searching for a woman’s parents that left her with an Uncle when she was small, and the telling of why a woman doesn’t think a relationship with one of the Thane brothers will work, because of her past. Each story on it’s own is very interesting.
The prominent story is of  Evie and she is a very smart detective that comes up with all kinds of new ideas to try and solve cold cases. I really did enjoy reading about her. The cold cases she is trying to solve are :A deputy, his wife and eleven-year old son, disappeared. And in an unrelated case, a six-year-old girl was abducted from a hotel.
I like Gabriel Thane so much because he loves his family, his job and the people around him, mostly his faith in God is the best part of his life. He is the small town sheriff that helps Evie and keeps his town together.
Love this book and I highly recommend it for you reading enjoyment.

MY REVIEW
Jennifer by Dee Henderson is an amazing novel. I’ve read all of the O’Malley books and just love them all, so when Dee wrote and published Jennifer I knew I needed to read it and see how her life started. Makes me want to read the whole series again.
Jennifer moves to Dallas away from her family in Chicago to start her practice. She loves her family dearly. Seven children all orphans all adopted each other and changed their last names to O’Malley. Jennifer is the youngest.
Jennifer has a pediatrics practice that specializes in children with severe illnesses. She loves all of her patients greatly.
She meets Tom another doctor. Tom introduces Jennifer to church and gives her his Bible to read.
Jennifer falls in love with Jesus and Tom.  They plan on visiting all of the O’Malley’s on the 4th of July and tell them all things that are happening. Then tragedy strikes and Jennifer becomes ill.
This is an amazing book and it really fills in all of your questions about Jennifer and the things in her life. If you haven’t read the O’Malley series Jennifer is a great place to start. One of my favorite series. A keeper for sure. Highly recommended.

Taken by Dee Henderson A REVIEW

ABOUT TAKEN
Abducted at the age of sixteen and coerced into assisting the Jacoby crime family, Shannon Bliss has finally found a way out. She desperately wants to resume some semblance of normal life, but she also knows she has some unfinished business to attend to. She has enough evidence to put her captors behind bars for a very long time.

When Shannon contacts private investigator and former cop Matthew Dane to help her navigate her reentry into society, she quickly discovers that gaining her freedom doesn't mean her troubles are over. For one thing, her brother is the leading candidate in the race for Illinois governor, and news of her escape will create a media frenzy. For another, the ransom her family reportedly paid years earlier appears to have been a scam; no one knows what happened to the money. And then there's the fact that Shannon's escape involved faking her own death. If the Jacoby family learns she is still alive, they'll stop at nothing to silence her.

If justice is to be done, and if Shannon's life is ever to get on track again, Matthew will need to discover exactly what happened to her--even if it means stirring up a hornet's nest of secrets.

MY REVIEW
I love, love, love books by Dee Henderson and this one Taken is just fabulous. The book Taken isn’t out until April 28th, but it is well worth waiting for. I was grabbed from the first page of this book and know you will be also.
It tells the story of Shannon Bliss who was kidnapped when she was 16 and had to live with the kidnappers until she escaped many, many years later. Shannon reads about a retired police officer that had his daughter kidnapped, but made it home so she went to him for help. Matthew helps her do the things she needs while providing her with safety and security.
Shannon knows a lot about the kidnappers and where they meet and where they hid the treasures that they steal. She will help the police, but only at her time and the place she desires. Shannon has her head on and makes a lot of lists. She has a long journey to get back to normal life. Many tears are shed and heartaches shared.
Shannon made a list of the 5 things she wants most out of life. Get her GED, have a career that will support her, get married, have children, but the last one we only know the first half of. So I’m looking forward to book two to find out the last part of her last wish on the list.
This book Taken by Dee Henderson, book one in the Men of Valor series is superb and very, very suspenseful, but full of love, tenderness and compassion. Highly recommended.

MY REVIEW
I’ve decided to read some of my own books that I have just sitting around waiting for me to read them. True Devotion is book one in the Uncommon Heroes stories. Dee Henderson has always been a favorite author of mine and True Devotion is another fine example of her great writing.
Kelly is a widow. Her loving husband was a Navy SEAL and she was told he got killed in a practice exercise, but she knew better. Joe was her husbands best friend in the SEALs. So he now is her great protector and they are best friends.
The book starts off making your sit on the edge of your seat. A rescue right off has to happen. The whole book is full of action and adventure with lots of very good romance involved.
The characters are so life like it seems like you are reading an actual account and Dee describes the places and setting so well you can believe you are there. Really a fantastic book that you will love to read. Highly recommended.

Unspoken by Dee Henderson A REVIEW

ABOUT UNSPOKEN
Charlotte Graham is at the center of the most famous kidnapping in Chicago history.

The task force of FBI and local cops found her two abductors, killed them, rescued her, but it took four very long years. The fact she was found less than three miles from her home, had been there the entire time, haunts them. She's changed her identity, found a profession she loves, and rebuilt her life.

She's never said a word--to the cops, to her doctors, to family--about those four years.

A family legacy has brought her back to Chicago where a reporter is writing a book about the kidnapping. The cops who worked the case are cooperating with him. Her options are limited: Hope the reporter doesn't find the full truth, or break her silence about what happened. And her silence is what has protected her family for years.

Bryce Bishop doesn't know her past, he only knows she has coins to sell from her grandfather's estate--and that the FBI director for the Chicago office made the introduction. The more he gets to know Charlotte, the more interested he becomes, an interest encouraged by those closest to her. But nothing else is working in his favor--she's decided she is single for life, she struggles with her faith, and she's willing to forego a huge inheritance to keep her privacy. She's not giving him much of an opening to work with.

Charlotte wants to trust him. She needs to tell him what happened. Because a crime cops thought was solved, has only opened another chapter...

MY REVIEW
Unspoken by Dee Henderson isn’t one of my favorite books. I LOVE the O’Malley series and it is so well written. Unspoken started our really slow. It talks a lot about Bryce’s coin business and the coins Charlotte sells him. It is very boring for people who don’t know or like coins. It really took a lot to get into this book.
I love how well Bryce treated and took care of Charlotte. He married her even though he didn’t love her, because he thought it was the right thing. I really don’t see many people if any who would marry someone just to help them.
Charlotte inherits a lot of money and doesn’t want it and wants someone else to help her give it away.
This was a really long story and I did enjoy the last part. I like how tender and loving Bryce is to Charlotte even though I don’t think a person would be without loving them.
This was an O.K. book, but if you want to read some fantastic books of Dee’s read her earlier books.

Ann Silver is a cop's cop. As the Midwest Homicide Investigator, she is called in to help local law enforcement on the worst of cases, looking for answers to murder. Hers is one of the region's most trusted investigative positions.

The better he gets to know her, the more Paul realizes her job barely scratches the surface of who she is. She knows spies and soldiers and U.S. Marshals, and has written books about them. She is friends with the former Vice President. People with good reason to be cautious about who they let into their lives deeply trust her. Paul wonders just what secrets Ann is keeping, until she shows him the John Doe Killer case file, and he starts to realize just who this lady he is falling in love with really is...

MY REVIEW
I love anything and everything from Dee Henderson. This book Full Disclosure is very good, but not Dee’s best work.
I love how Paul really wants to get married and knows it right away. Ann really holds back from relationships except for friendship. She really doesn’t like to fail in anything so she would rather not try in marriage.
One thing I didn’t care for in this book was how Dee has Ann to be the writer of the O’Malley series. I don’t think it fits in with the story very well.
Also Ann seems to be able to do everything and know everyone, but doesn’t want to trust herself in a serious relationship.
I love all of the police work and crime scenes that Ann and Paul work on. Dee writes really great crime/mystery stories.
I feel the romance doesn’t work well in this story, because it doesn’t seem to be much of it in the book. Also Ann is to perfect, but very flawed. She believes in the Lord, but rarely does she trust Him to help her with a serious relationship.
Paul is just a wonderful character and gives in to Ann’s every whim and I don’t believe that’s possible in a real relationship. Both sides need to give or it doesn’t work.
Even though I’m not thrilled about every part of the story I still really recommend it. The lady killer part is very interesting.
