ABOUT THE AUTHOR
TESSA AFSHAR was born in a nominally Muslim family in Iran and lived there for the first fourteen years of her life. She survived English boarding school for girls before moving to the United States permanently. Her conversion to Christianity in her mid-twenties changed the course of her life forever. Tessa holds an MDIV from Yale University where she served as co-Chair of the Evangelical Fellowship at the Divinity School. She has spent the last twelve years in full and part-time Christian work and currently serves as the leader of Women’s and Prayer ministries at a church in New England.

MY REVIEW
Harvest of Gold by Tessa Afshar is a magnificent novel. It is a historical novel taken from the books of Ezra and Nehemiah. Put in Tessa’s words “Harvest of Gold is a love story. But at its core, it is also a novel about overcoming in the midst of battle.”
This is book two in a series. The first book was titled Harvest of Rubies. You can read Harvest of Gold without reading Harvest of Rubies, but I think reading both would make your reading experience much richer. All characters are explained in Harvest of Gold, but you would really benefit from the backgrounds of those characters.
Tessa Afshar is an excellent author and her characters are rich and colorful. She can paint pictures with her words.
Harvest of Gold tells such a tender love story between man and woman, both also between man and God. It is a precious story that will keep you reading late into the night. Highly recommended.
