Storm Devotions by David Washington Jr* a review

About the book: Organized in fifty-two brief but powerful chapters, Storm Devotions is inspirational and encouraging to all Christians—pastors, church leaders, and those sitting in the pews. From profound theological themes such as the true meaning of salvation and the personhood of the Holy Spirit, to the down-to-earth issues of stress, tithing, and fasting, the devotions are straight talk about God’s perspective on life’s challenges. Having a Christ-like viewpoint on topics such as failure, integrity, accountability, and excellence are also explained. Ask Yourself and Ponder This segments that inspire the examination of thoughts and actions throughout the week accompany the readings. The reader is encouraged to study the Bible-inspired principles outlined in the book in order to apply them in mundane, every-day situations and to be prepared for the major storms of life that are sure to come. The author, Pastor David Washington Jr. says that God is still in the blessing business and that even when we are in the midst of trials, God is still on the throne.

My review
This is a neat devotional book. There are 52 chapters, one for each week of the year. They are short, but leave you with many things to think of. Each chapter has the devotional than a part called ASK YOURSELF-which has a question that will start you thinking. Then the last part called PONDER THIS. In that part you really get to think about things. The author brings up a lot of neat things to ponder.
The only thing I really couldn’t understand in this devotional book is which chapter of the Bible the author wants you to read for each devotional. I’ve searched through the book and can’t locate that. If the author lets me know I will change this and write what chapters or books go along with the devotional.
For the most part this book is really an excellent book to read and I recommend it.

Thanks to WinePress for the chance to read and review this book.
