MY REVIEW
Iesodo’s Joy is a Christmas story. It tells of the birth of Iesodo and follows along with the Bible account with a way that will speak to children. Iesodo and the other friend birds of his are kind and gentle, full of love and compassion. The mean birds are really neat and play the part so well.
This DVD Iesodo Joy will keep your children/grandchildren/friends on the edge of their seats and they will want to watch it over and over. I really enjoyed this episode and so will you and your family. This will make such a wonderful Christmas gift and one that keeps giving. Highly recommended.

MY REVIEW
Wow, wow, wow is all I can say for this fantastic book. I really enjoyed it and can’t wait until book 2 comes out.
Drew is a very interesting character that so many bad, sad things happen to him. He is dealt so many bad blows in life that some people would have given up.
Drew and his friend Ben who is a genius. They do an experiment together and tragedy strikes again. Drew is blind, but regains his sight, but oh what kind of sight. It is amazing and a little creepy.
Drew also likes a girl Sydney who is talked about as a church chick. She doesn’t date Drew because he’s not a Christian, but through the book remains his friend.
You will read about dark invaders/light invaders and many more mysteries in the unseen world. Truly an eye-opening book that will have you thinking more and wanting to do more to help our fellow humans. I loved this book and know you will also. This book is called a young adult book, but I think it is great for all ages from young adult upward. Truly a 5-star book. Highly recommended.

MY REVIEW
I just loved reading Deceived by Irene Hannon. It is a fascinating book that is full of adventure and suspense. From the very first page to the last I was spell bound.
I love the character Kate and the love she had for her family that she lost and the great length she goes to see if what really happened on the fateful day her husband and son died. She is a strong, determined woman.
Also Connor the private investigator is also very unwavering in finding the truth. It is very interesting to find out the many steps they had to take to find out if the mystery child is really her son or not.
Deceived is a very emotional story that will grab you and you will hang on  for the ride.
Find out in this book if Kate finds what she is looking for. What Connor’s personal life was like before and how they work together in one of the most important cases of all.
I highly recommend this wonderful book. Very much a book that you will love to read again and again.

In each installment of 7 Hours, a character is visited by the enigmatic Thomas Constant, who makes a heart-stopping statement: “You are about to die. ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Tom is the highly imaginative Christy Award-winning author of "Vanish", "Valley of the Shadow", "Beckon", "The Way Back", and the novella "Recollection" from the "7 Hours" anthology. His unique brand of suspense thrillers will grab you from the first page and won't let go until the last.

Tom's fascination with the weird, the creepy and the unknown began at a very early age when he was introduced to a bizarre 19th century German story book called "Der Struwwelpeter". The book was a collection of nightmarish morality tales by a German physician who obviously had too much time on his hands and no children of his own. The morbid nursery rhymes included the frightful "Daumenlutscher" (Thumbsucker), a disturbing yarn about a young boy who was warned that if he continued to suck his thumbs, the demented local tailor would chop them off with his sewing shears. You can guess the story's gruesome ending has scared many a child out of surreptitiously savoring their opposable digits over the years. Other tales warned against playing with matches and being overly messy. Needless to say Tom never played with matches, generally kept his room clean and to this day retains the use of both his thumbs.

But the psychological damage was already done, and Tom's warped imagination turned him to writing his own creepy stories at a rather young age. Alas, no publishers were brave enough to bring his stories to print, so Tom would not realize his life-long dream of becoming a published author until the ripe old age of 42. Today, Tom is happily married with six children of his own... who, oddly enough, never sucked their thumbs.

MY REVIEW
Recollection by Tom Pawlik is a fantastic story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. This book is in the 7 Hours series, a character is visited by Thomas Constant, who makes a heart-stopping statement: “You are about to die. But you may choose from one of three options: Live seven more hours, travel back in time and relive seven hours, or accept the inevitable and die now.”
This is another book that I listened to as I ran on my treadmill. Very interesting. It tells of a cab driver and his girlfriend. How he went back in time to try to save her life.  It also shows how things are suppose to be and if they are changed how so many different things can happen and how life could be worse.
I highly recommend this 5-star book. I thoroughly enjoyed it and know you will too. Full of suspense and heart-stopping action. Loved it.

Abraham and Sarah ~Book Review~

ABOUT ABRAHAM AND SARAH
A splendid exploration of faith against great odds and love that endures years of disappointment.
Abraham and Sarah is a masterful historical drama from the moment that Abraham strides into the pagan temple to rescue Sarah. The couple set out in search of the blessings God had promised: abundant fertile land and decedents more plentiful than the stars.
But years of wandering bring the couple to Egypt where once again Abraham convinces Sarah that as sister and brother surely they will pass safely through the territory. But Pharaoh takes Sarah into his harem where she befriends Pharaoh's daughter, Hagar. Together the three are ordered to leave.
Years of barrenness have embittered Sarah and she hatches a plan: Hagar must become the vessel for the child God has promised. Ishmael is born to Hagar and so is jealousy born in Sarah's heart. But God had a plan and He was right all along. This miracle unfolds with Historical authenticity leaving the reader with a better understanding of the ancient world and the life-changing faith of Abraham and Sarah.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

MY REVIEW
Abraham and Sarah by Roberta Kells Dorr is quite a good book. Only two things I didn’t like or agree with. The first is in the beginning of the book when Abraham left Ur. In this book it said they left because of a war, but in the Bible they left because God told them to. Another part in this book I don’t agree with is how Sarah is so bitter, spoiled and hard to get along. I know she did have a few faults as we all do, but not to the extreme this book tries to make you believe.
I enjoyed the characters and also thought the author made Hagar really likable. Which I don’t believe that was how she was. It made an interesting read.
The countryside, cities and plains were described to utter perfection. Enjoyed that about this novel.
Abraham and Sarah did have a depth to it that I enjoy in books and it was entertaining. I recommend this book. Very good.

MY REVIEW
When Calls the Heart series is really an excellent group of movies. This one Change of Heart is the very best yet. I really enjoyed the actors and scenes. The story line was new and fresh.
Julie’s sister comes to visit and brings trouble with her, just as she did back home.
Jack and Elizabeth have become closer and have started a new deeper relationship.
Julie finds someone to like/love, but is he who she thinks he is?
Also Abigail finds evidence that could bring closure to many in Coal Valley.
Watching this DVD Change of Heart will answer those and many more questions. Really a fantastic DVD that I highly recommend.

SOMEWHERE SAFE WITH SOMEONE GOOD by JAN KARON ~A Review~

ABOUT SOMEWHERE SAFE WITH SOMEONE GOOD
After five hectic years of retirement from Lord’s Chapel, Father Tim Kavanagh returns with his wife, Cynthia, from a so-called pleasure trip to the land of his Irish ancestors.
While glad to be at home in Mitford, something is definitely missing: a pulpit. But when he’s offered one, he decides he doesn’t want it. Maybe he’s lost his passion.
His adopted son, Dooley, wrestles with his own passion—for the beautiful and gifted Lace Turner, and his vision to become a successful country vet. Dooley’s brother, Sammy, still enraged by his mother’s abandonment, destroys one of Father Tim’s prized possessions. And Hope Murphy, owner of Happy Endings bookstore, struggles with the potential loss of her unborn child and her hard-won business.
All this as Wanda’s Feel Good Café opens, a romance catches fire through an Internet word game, their former mayor hatches a reelection campaign to throw the bums out, and the weekly Muse poses a probing inquiry: Does Mitford still take care of its own?

MY REVIEW
Somewhere Safe with Somebody Good by Jan Karon is such an excellent work of art. I love the way Ms. Karon describes her characters and the wonderful town of Mitford. I’ve heard many people proclaim how they hate to finish a book, how it seems like you are right there and experience the many things the characters go through. That is just what I felt for this book and every book of Ms. Karon’s in the Mitford series. This is book 10 in the series and I hope the stories go on and on. I never want to quit learning about the people in Mitford.
Somewhere Safe with Somebody Good is full of such tender, compassionate, funny, precious moments and characters. It makes you wish there was such a town that we could all live in and get to know each and every person there.
In book 10 we have the old regulars that we have read about for years and years and some very new characters that are sweet and dear to us already.
We are all hoping for another book and I believe we will get it, because so many things were left hanging.
These stories in Mitford just keep getting better.
I will treasure my book forever.
I highly recommend the Mitford series. Each one can be a stand alone read, but you should start at the beginning, because you will miss so much beautiful stories if you don’t. Love these books and so will you.

MY REVIEW
This is my own book that I wasn’t required to read. You may notice it has taken me awhile to read it. That isn’t because it isn’t good, but I only listen to it read from my Kindle when I’m on my treadmill.
A Heartbeat Away by Harry Kraus is an excellent book and I enjoyed it very much. This book talks about heart transplant and cellular memory. Here is how to explain that: In our modern culture, cellular memory was first studied in heart transplant recipients when the patients displayed strange cravings, change in tastes, cravings and mild personality.  Major organs like the heart, liver, kidney, and even muscles are known to contain large populations of neural networks, which are self-contained brains and produce noticeable changes. Acquired combinatorial memories in organ transplants could enable transferred organs to respond to patterns familiar to the organ donors, and it may be triggered by emotional signals. Science discovered evidence that nervous system organs store memories and respond to places, events, and people recognized by their donors.
I really love the double story of Tori the woman who got the transplant and the couple whom she got the transplant from. Very interesting plot twist and turns. When you read this you will see if the memories Tori gets will help her to solve a crime and just get her in trouble.
Really enjoyed this story and recommend it for everyone who loves a good romance, suspense and the medical field.

A Light in the Wilderness by Jane Kirkpatrick A REVIEW

ABOUT A LIGHT IN THE WILDERNESS

Letitia holds nothing more dear than the papers that prove she is no longer a slave. They may not cause white folks to treat her like a human being, but at least they show she is free. She trusts in those words she cannot read--as she is beginning to trust in Davey Carson, an Irish immigrant cattleman who wants her to come west with him.

Nancy Hawkins is loathe to leave her settled life for the treacherous journey by wagon train, but she is so deeply in love with her husband that she knows she will follow him anywhere--even when the trek exacts a terrible cost.

Betsy is a Kalapuya Indian, the last remnant of a once proud tribe in the Willamette Valley in Oregon territory. She spends her time trying to impart the wisdom and ways of her people to her grandson. But she will soon have another person to care for.

As season turns to season, suspicion turns to friendship, and fear turns to courage, three spirited women will discover what it means to be truly free in a land that makes promises it cannot fulfill. This multilayered story from bestselling author Jane Kirkpatrick will grip readers' hearts and minds as they travel with Letitia on the dusty and dangerous Oregon trail into the boundless American West.

MY REVIEW
A Light in the Wilderness by Jane Kirkpatrick is an O.K. story. It is full of history and interesting details.
Letitia is an Africain American and she is a freed slave. She meets and married Davey, an Irish immigrant. So starts their adventures of moving West.  Many good and bad things happen on the way West, but they keep going.
It was a nice story, but I didn’t find it overly interesting. To me it really seems like a sad story even though good things happened. I just would have liked Letitia be have been more trusting of her husband and more joy in her life.
If you love history and stories of westward travel you will love this book. It was a book hard for me to read. I will though recommend you read it for the interesting details.
