MY REVIEW
  Saving my Assassin by Virginia Prodan is a powerful novel of her life. Virginia was born and raised in Romania during the rein of Ceausescu which was a communist rein. Where religion was not outlawed, but they had so many strict rules that you couldn’t take talk about Jesus or have any Bibles or movies of the Bible in your home to show to other people. You would be arrested and you would then disappear.
  Virginia became a lawyer and defended these people with bringing up the law and usually always winning. She became much hated with the leaders and police. She was kidnapped, beaten, tortured, placed under house arrest, and came within seconds of being executed under the orders of Ceausescu himself.
  Virginia had many friends in the US embassy and the Voice of America radio show. Many times they helped her through trials and difficulties. Of course they and the churched prayed for her.
 One part of this book is amazing how a very evil man was sent to kill her and she told him about Jesus. That man just left, but wait until you read what happened to him.
  Just an amazing book. That is highly recommended. I know this is something you want to read. A book to keep and read again.

MY REVIEW
  I usually don’t like to read Mennonite or Amish books, because it’s usually the same old thing, but The Alliance seemed different to me. Also I’ve read several books this year about a huge power outage that takes the whole world {must be the year for that} and how it affects everyone and how food would run out along with not having any cars/trucks that would work because of how cars are made now.
   The Alliance tells how the Mennonite don’t believe in wars and fighting back and how some Englischers got stuck in their community and how they worked together to protect each other.
  Leora and Moses are so different, but so alike in many ways.
One thing I didn’t see as natural is the romance in the middle of a crisis. A lot of people would disagree with me, but I don’t see it happening.
  This is the first book I’ve read by Jolina Petersheim and it won’t be the last. She writes a good story, but some of it was hard for me to believe. So much of it just seemed like the characters were pretending.
  I will however recommend it and most people will enjoy it.

MY REVIEW
    This is book two in the Jeb Patrick series. I remember book one was amazing. I wasn’t as thrilled with this book because to me it just seemed like more of the same.
  They are running and hiding, but get caught, go through horrible tests, try to escape, get shot at and finally at the end they are all together as a family. I like this kind of book if it happens in one book, but not if it keeps happening with the outcome the same.
  It’s a good suspenseful book, but to much of the same kind of suspense.
    If you didn’t read book one it is O.K. to read this book. It is good as a stand alone, but you get more out of it if you read book one.

MY REVIEW
  The Occupied by Craig Parshall is an excellent novel. This is the first time I’ve read a book by Craig Parshall and I’m really glad I’ve gotten the chance to find out what an brilliant author he is.
  In The Occupied Trevor Black can see the invisible world of dark forces, but I believe he also sees angels. You may think this is completely fiction, but I know a man that can see demons on a person or in them. It is something that really happens.
   Trevor starts out on the bad side, but so many things happen to him and a person he knows witnesses to him that Trevor knows he can’t make it on his own. So he accepts Jesus into his life. Now the dark forces are extremely mad and they try to kill him several times.
  The strange happenings continue and go back to his hometown. Trevor wants to solve one of his best friends murder.
  This is a supernatural murder mystery. Very entertaining and suspenseful. I like to find how the title fits into the book and The Occupied really works. I love the title and the whole novel. Excellent book. I highly recommend this novel.

MY REVIEW
  Step by Step by Candace Calvert is an excellent novel. It is full of mystery, intrigue, hope, life and love.
  Taylor has been a widow for three years and is getting her life back on track. She has a survival list of things she thinks need to be done at a certain time for her healing.
  She has two men in her life, Seth a volunteer chaplain who helps people in crisis situations. Taylor has done some of that work herself, but feels she needs to get away from all of the grief.
   Halston a plastic surgeon is also interested in her. He seems perfect, but is he.
  A main part of Step by Step is about Taylor’s aging dog who has cancer. She doesn’t want to lose him, because her husband bought him as a puppy. It’s a heart wrenching part, but oh so good.
  Also a big secret her husband had and she finds out about it three years later. Find out how she handles this situation.
  Read Step by Step to find out what happens in Taylor’s life. How she copes with everything and how she learns what is important and whom to trust.

MY REVIEW
  The Calling by Rachelle Dekker is book two in The Seer series. What an amazing book. I really enjoyed The Calling and look forward to Rachelle’s next novel. She is such a talented lady.
   A main theme of this book is talking about getting over your fears. Here is a line from The Calling, “Fear is a powerful sedative for rebellion.” Just think about how fear can affect you in your life. In The Calling Remko and Carrington are married and have a child. Remko fears for his wife, child and all of the other Seers. Being fearful doesn’t help him to be a good leader.
  The Seers have escaped the Authority City. They want to worship God and have the right to make their own decisions. The new leader of the city is very evil and wants to erase everyone’s memories and make them into people not caring about anything or anyone.
  Very, very good book, with a lot of twists and turns. The ending is excellent. Can’t wait for book three. Highly recommended.

MY REVIEW
  Biblical Answers to Common Questions about Heaven by Randy Alcorn is simply a beautiful book. It is very short, just 60 pages.
   Some of the questions are: Will Heaven (the New Earth) Be an Actual Place?
Will we Remember What Happened on Earth?
Will There Be Animals on the New Earth?
Will There Be Marriage and Family in Heaven?
Many such questions and very well thought out answers.
  One of my favorite parts in is the chapter about recognizing people in Heaven. Remember at the Transfiguration, the disciples recognized Moses and Elijah, even though they weren’t told who the two men were, and they couldn’t have previously known what they looked like.
  Just reading this precious book has heightened my longing for Heaven. What a wonderful place it will be. Can’t wait. Highly recommend this sweet book.

MY REVIEW
  This is a really good suspenseful novel. Luke and Abby are very likable. Besides the suspense there is romance, but not the main theme.
  Since the author is a retired police officer she really knows the ins and outs of suspense and how things operate.
  Abby wants to know why her parents died and why everyone keeps telling her to let the case be. Abby knew the one way she could get closer to the truth is to become a detective and worrk on it, but so many things keep happening and then Luke shows up and he has a very real interest in the same case. At first Abby doesn’t like the hot shot PI, but things change.
You will want to read Drawing Fire to find out what happens with Abby and Luke. How they get along, how they get around road blocks.
 Very good, interesting novel, that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Highly recommended.

MY REVIEW
   The My First Hands-On Bible comes in a very pretty pink color and the feel of the Bible is so soft. Any little girl will just love to own one. The Bible takes many stories from the Old and New Testaments.
  Some of the stories are God Creates the World, God Parts the Red Sea, Jericho’s Falling Walls,  Jesus is Born, Jesus Loves Children, Life in Heaven, Jesus Will Come Back. There are many, many more stories with full, beautiful, colorful pictures.
  There are hands-on activities. During different stories you will come across colored handprints. When you see a handprint you stop reading and do an activity with your child.
  Each passage ends with a prayer and questions.
   There are places called Pockets and Cuddles. The pockets show a little Kangaroo that tells you it’s time to pray. Also Cuddles the Lamb leads you in more activities.
  Then there is the section called Jesus Connection. Your child will see that Jesus is the center of all scripture. And your child will know that Jesus is a real part of life.
  I highly recommend this first Hands-on Bible for any child from 3-6 years of age. Really precious Bible.

MY REVIEW
  If you watched the movie Old Fashioned you will love the book written from the screenplay. I love books more than the movies and this book is really fantastic. Lots of the same parts from the movie, but you can really get a clear, sweet picture from the book.
  Written by Rene Gutteridge which I know is a fantastic author and Rik Swartzwelder who wrote the screenplay and helped put this book together, really is talented.
  Really an interesting book, but my favorite part was the last chapter. It is so sweet and tender. Full of love and compassion. I recommend this for all of you lovers of romance.

  The Old Fashioned Way written by Ginger Kolbaba is an excellent study guide on dating, courtship and romance.
Each chapter introduces a different subject and tells of different situations that can occur and how to handle them in your relationship.
  After each chapter is a part for reflecting what you have learned it is called Consider this and some chapters have you doing some journaling. Or there might be a quiz or something to pray about.
  Really a full kind of study that will get you thinking and help you with all of the things that come up.
  I highly recommend this book.

MY REVIEW
  Centralia by Mike Dellosso is one of my favorite books of the year. It only took me two days to read and that’s fast for me. Centralia is a thrilling book full of suspense. You never know what will happen next. Each chapter, almost every page has something new happening. If you like to guess what will happen next in a book you will never be able to in Centralia.
  Centralia is a real place. Centralia is a borough and a near-ghost town in Columbia County, Pennsylvania, United States. Its population has dwindled from over 1,000 residents in 1981 to 10 in 2010[2] as a result of the Centralia mine fire that has been burning beneath the borough since 1962. Centralia is the least-populated municipality in Pennsylvania.
  In the novel Peter doesn’t believe his wife and daughter are dead and then he finds a message from his daughter in the back tank of the toilet. So the search begins, but there are so many things that happen that you will be on the edge of your seat.
  This is an amazing book and you will love it. You won’t believe the things that happen. I highly recommend Centralia and know you will love it. Fantastic job Mike Dellosso.

MY REVIEW
  The Choosing by Rachelle Dekker is an excellent novel. This is the first book she has written.  I really enjoyed it and can’t wait for book 2 in the Seer series. I want to see how this story continues.
  The story opens in the year of 2257. The world has changed greatly. Every girl just lives for the chance to be chosen when she reaches the age. If a man does not chose you to be his wife then society shuns you and you have to become a Lint and work as a slave and do the jobs no one wants. As a Lint you are considered a nobody and you are left to live on your own.
   Carrington doesn’t get chosen and begins the horrible life everyone avoids.
  Someone is killing Lints that disobey and it’s a horrible way to die. I must say even though I love this book I did figure out who the killer was early on in the book, but that didn’t ruin the story for me.
  Well Carrington meets and has a few friends and things just happen to bring her into a different kind of life.
 Many twists and turns in this story. Just when you think you have all things figured out something new happens.
  The theme of this book is that you are Chosen by God even if no one else chooses you. He loves you just the way you are and you are important to Him. No matter what anyone else says.
  Strange, but the sermon in church this past week was on the same theme. So this story has really stuck with me to let me know I’m loved and chosen by God.
  The Choosing is a very excellent book and I know Rachelle Dekker is going to go far in her writing career. Highly recommend The Choosing and so glad to have found a new favorite author.

  By Your Side by Candace Calvert is such an excellent book. I truly enjoyed it. I love books about doctors and the medical field and Candace does a superb job. Since she was part of the medical field she knows what she is talking about.
  In By Your Side Macy and Fletcher have a chance meeting on the freeway during an accident that turns into a sniper incident. Macy trusts no one, but herself and Fletcher thinks he can handle all situations himself. They both have to learn who really can be trusted and who is the one to handle what happens to us.
   I really love the characters and how they seem so real and how they come to figure out life, love and family. Macy is such an excellent nurse and Fletcher knows how to put other people before him in the field of law. Since Macy is a nurse and Fletcher is a deputy they come in contact many times.
  You will love this book full of the medical and law fields, also with a little romance. My three favorite kinds of stories all wrapped in one. Highly recommended.

MY REVIEW
  June Bug by Chris Fabry is an excellent novel. I thoroughly enjoyed it and glad that I read it.
  The characters are so life like and you can really live the story through them. I really came to love
June Bug and her “Dad”.  Usually I don’t care for books that are told through the eyes of a child/young person. To me it seems to be lacking something, but with June Bug it wasn’t that way. June Bug was not only told through a young girl, but also others.
  June Bug talks about Walmart and WV which are close to me so it really is a down to earth type of read.  Don’t get me wrong there is also lots of adventure and family tradgies that add so much to the book.
  When you read this book you will feel fulfilled and hopeful. It has a wonderful, but sort of sad ending. I guess you could say happy and sad together. Very highly recommended. You will be glad you read this book.

MY REVIEW
  I really, really didn’t like The Remaining by Travis Thrasher. In the first place the book didn’t really have a main theme or subject. It just seemed like everyone was running and being grossed out by everything that was happening. The events of the book were talking of the last days. Most of what is in the book is wrong in one way or another. It doesn’t follow the Biblical account as how things will be.
  Don’t get me wrong I really love to read books about the end times and the things that will be happening, but I don’t like when things are changed just to make the book/movie more interesting.
  In this book The Remaining when the end came and the believers were taken away, they just died, bodies left here and souls taken. Also another part when the unbelievers became Christians they were killed or devoured by beasts immediately.
  The characters in this book were very flimsy, shallow people. They seemed like they only became Christians so they wouldn’t be cast into hell with these demons.
Very shallow story and characters. I will give it 2-stars because it had some interesting parts.

Needless to say Tom never played with matches, generally kept his room clean and to this day retains the use of both his thumbs.

Alas, no publishers were brave enough to bring his stories to print, so Tom would not realize his life-long dream of becoming a published author until the ripe old age of 42. Today, Tom is happily married with six children of his own... who, oddly enough, never sucked their thumbs.

MY REVIEW
  Recollection by Tom Pawlik is a fantastic story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. This book is in the 7 Hours series, a character is visited by Thomas Constant, who makes a heart-stopping statement: “You are about to die.   This is another book that I listened to as I ran on my treadmill. Very interesting. It tells of a cab driver and his girlfriend. How he went back in time to try to save her life.  It also shows how things are suppose to be and if they are changed how so many different things can happen and how life could be worse.
  I highly recommend this 5-star book. I thoroughly enjoyed it and know you will too. Full of suspense and heart-stopping action. Loved it.
