MY REVIEW
Larry and Mr. Lunt didn’t see the point of building on solid
stuff. They wanted to do things the quick and easy way. This DVD shows why it’s not good to do things fast or the easy way. It explains why fighting over something only makes you sad or look silly. This DVD is really neat because it tells a story with many wonderful examples for doing something or not doing it. It shows you what’s right and what’s wrong with doing certain things.
The only story in the DVD about Humpty Dumpty talks about being lonely and wanting to be alone, God didn’t create people to be alone,
but to love and care for each other. When we care for others, God fills us with purpose and joy! Not blaming others for things that are wrong and confessing to things that we may have done wrong ourselves.
This is just a fantastic DVD for everyone, but mainly for children 3-7 years old. Highly recommended!

MY REVIEW

Abel’s Field is a very neat DVD. It is a story about struggle, loss, love and mentorship. Some real life issues are addressed here and aren’t sugar coated, but has humor in the story. Just like real life sometimes humor goes along with tragedy.

Seth is a young man still in high school going through all of the things associated with school, but has the added reasonability of taking care of two very young sisters. Their mother died years ago and the father just left. So Seth does his best, but feels so inadequate.

Abel comes to town and works at the school and Seth has to help him as a punishment for getting into a fight. Even though Seth doesn’t have all of the answers, but he has been through hard times and tragedies himself and knows what he needs to do. Abel is an excellent help to Seth, but not until many bad things begin to happen.

I really like Abel’s Field for its honesty, humor and the acting is very well. Also Abel’s Field was filmed in a very small town under 900 people and you can see the friendliness and caring of a small town coming through in the film.

I recommend you watch this film for a family fun time and a great learning experience.

MY REVIEW
This is a very good, honest movie. You sometimes wonder why do so many children go the wrong way. A lot of times, but not always we see why. In this movie a young man Matthew vandalizes a church. As soon as you see the parents you know why he did what he did. The parents are constantly fighting and complaining. To the boy things seem impossible. He has no one to turn to.
The good thing of this movie is Matthew has to help fix up the mess he made. He soon comes to understand and learn many things. When Matthew starts working with the woodcarver he sees the beauty of the wood, sees how he should do things through the saying WWJD {What would Jesus Do}.  Things start to make sense to him and he figures out that he’s not alone in life.
The DVD is very uplifting and heartwarming, but also sad at the same time.
This DVD is a very worthy DVD to watch and keep. I highly recommend it.

MY REVIEW
The Mighty Macs is a true inspiring story that I really enjoyed and watched several times. This story happened in 1971 to a very small Catholic college who wins the basketball national championship against some major universities.
Cathy Rush is recently married and decides she doesn’t want to be a stay at home wife, but wants to see if she has it in her to become a coach.
She faces many challenges besides going against huge universities, she learns the college has no gymnasium on campus, it burned down a few months ago, she doesn’t receive any support from the Mother Superior and the school is in really bad financial path. Another thing she doesn’t know if she will have enough players for a team.
After all of the problems Cathy finds an assistant in a nun who helps her in many ways and gives her hope and inspires her.
You need to watch this to see what happens, if the team wins, if the school crumbles, if her husband hates what she is doing.
I really recommend this great DVD for family night. It is full of fun, inspiring, never give up scenes. Besides the wonderful movie on the DVD you will see deleted scenes, The making of the movie The Mighty Macs and a real segment from the ESPN network on real Mighty Macs. Also some of the nuns in the DVD were the real players from the first Mighty Macs team. Really loved this DVD, Christian movie at it’s best.

MY REVIEW
If you love books by Beverly Lewis you will love this movie made from her book The Shunning. This DVD is excellent and a must watch. The characters are very authentic and brilliant. You just feel like it is real, the characters and places feel very genuine.
I was pulled into the story and was enthralled with it. The story is very heart-warming while being heart-breaking at the same time.
You will be drawn into two different worlds, Amish and English.
Katie found out she was adopted as a baby. Her whole world seems to be falling apart. She loves singing and playing her guitar, but Amish frown upon musical instruments and will only allow singing from their hymn books. What will she choose, what will she do?
The actors/actresses in The Shunning are wonderful. They played their parts exceptionally well.  You know how some Christian films really lack in the acting abilities!  Well that isn’t the case with The Shunning. The casting is just superb.
In this DVD you will find such love, goodness and tenderness that it is unbelievable. I love the way the Amish family wants to keep everyone close and keep them from going astray. I’m really glad to have this DVD and highly recommend it. Another DVD every person should have in their library.

Theo Presents Cartoon-DVD-Review and GIVEAWAY

Theo Presents is centered around the adventures and teachings of the main character, Theo, a student of Godʼs Word. Theo lives in a cozy corner of a quaint English village, in the heart of the Cotswolds, and entertains many guests, including two mice, Belfry and Luther.

The animation series of Theo guides children and adults through a careful study of systematic theology. Theo discusses doctrines about sin, Godʼs character, the Bible, salvation and godly living with easy-to-understand illustrations that make children want to learn more about the Christian faith.

Theo Presents recognizes a universal fact: children and adults alike love cartoons. Theo captures the attention of young minds with liberal amounts of humor and high quality animation to present the Gospel of the Christian faith through the teachings of Theo and with the use of his two object lessons, Belfry and Luther.

Theo Presents is designed to serve as a multi-media resource tool that will help men, women and children fulfill the Great Commission of Christ, to go into all the world and make disciples and to teach those disciples Godʼs Word. The multi-media outlets include a DVD series, curriculum, books and audio CD series. Each of these facets are designed to work with one another or individually.

Theo was created to reach kids of all ages. The lessons and teachings of Theo can be used for Sunday school lessons, Christian school curriculum, missions, evangelism and homeschooling. The overall purpose of Theo Presents is to provide as many tools as possible to help present the Gospel to many kids and audiences around the world.

MY REVIEW

I was asked to review this wonderful DVD. It is of a man named Theo who loves the Lord and wants to teach children about the important things of the Lord. Theo Presents is a most lovable, interesting cartoon. Many cartoons are poorly put together and seem to lack imagination, but not Theo. This is a brilliant cartoon that is full of teachings and love of the Lord.

The one I reviewed is called Saving Faith and it is about 10 minutes long. It tells about the life of Abraham and how he had faith and always believed in God.

The creator has worked on many very famous, award-winning series and commercials, but always wanted to teach the word to children in cartoon form.

I know without a doubt this is going to be a very big, winning series. The cartoon I reviewed was intriguing, but very simple to understand and the characters so very special. Theo an Englishman and two cute mice.

This series is awesome and can’t wait to view the other ones when they come out. The titles below are the ones to come next.

Really highly recommend this DVD and besides being very entertaining, these DVDs are full of many lessons. These cartoons are for children of all ages. Don’t you love cartoons? You will love these.

1. Saving Faith

Did you know that the same type of faith that saved Abraham, saves you and me? Kids will be entranced by Theo, a kind English theologian who teaches what it means to have genuine, or saving faith. Theo shares the story of Abraham to illustrate the life of a man who trusted the promises of God and walked by faith. Just as the Lord promised Abraham a son and fulfilled His promise, He promised a Savior to us. And sent Jesus into the world at just the right time.

2. Loving Obedience

Loving God and obeying Him are two peas in the same pod! If we love God, we will obey Him. Luther and Belfry, two field mice that have befriended Theo, lack obedience and get into trouble wherever they go. Children will learn a valuable lesson and be entertained at the same time as Theo uses the story of Jonah to illustrate the consequences of disobedience, and the blessings that come when we love God through doing what He asks of us.

3. Forgiveness

Nothing is more basic to the Gospel than forgiveness. Did you know that forgiveness in the biblical sense means to set something free? However, learning to forgive is not easy for Theo's furry friends Luther and Belfry. In this episode, Theo teaches the important lesson of forgiving others through the parable of the Unforgiving Servant. For if we do not forgive others, we cannot expect God to forgive us!

Whitestone Media is a Christ-centered, animation studio committed to creating quality Christian animation. Our mission is to teach children Godʼs word and how they ought to live in the light of it. Through our cartoons we hope to impact men, women, and children for Christ all over the world.

About the creator-Michael Joens

Mike Joens has produced and directed scores of animated commercials for toy companies such as Milton Bradley, Hasbro, Kenner, McDonald’s and Playskool. In addition to commercial work, he produced and directed the animation segments for the award-winning video series McGee and Me, as well as the animated Adventures in Odyssey for Focus on the Family. After a waiting period of over 30 years God opened the doors to Joens for the production of Theo Presents. At last the dream of a cartoonist, called to teach the Word has come true. It is Mike’s hope that God will use Theo to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ to children and adults in every country of the world!

The Grace Card DVD-Review and GIVEAWAY

WITNESS THE POWER OF FORGIVENESS

Everything can change in an instant ... and take a lifetime to unravel.
When Mac McDonald loses his son in an accident, the ensuing 17 years of bitterness and pain erodes his love for his family and leaves him angry with God ... and just about everyone else.
Mac's rage stonewalls his career in the police department and makes for a combustible situation when he's partnered with Sam Wright, a rising star on the force who happens to be a part-time pastor and a loving family man.
Mac's home life is as frightening as anything he encounters on the streets of Memphis. Money is tight and emotions run high as he constantly argues with his wife and his surviving son Blake, who is hanging with the wrong crowd and in danger of flunking out of school.
Sam Wright also never expected to be a police officer. He has a calling—to be a minister like his Grandpa George. But leading a small, start-up church doesn't always put enough food on the table for a young family, so Sam doubles as a police officer. With his new promotion to Sergeant, Sam starts questioning if his real calling might actually be police work rather than the pastorate.
Can Mac and Sam somehow join forces to help one another when it's impossible for either of them to look past their differences—especially the most obvious one?
Every day, we have the opportunity to rebuild relationships and heal deep wounds by extending and receiving God's grace. Offer THE GRACE CARD ... and never underestimate the power of God's love.

MY REVIEW
WOW, this DVD is amazing. Most Christian movies I have viewed have been greatly lacking in their acting abilities.
The Grace Card is really different. This movie proves great actors and stories can come from the Christian community.
Besides the acting, the story itself is a winner. It is a very touching, emotional movie that will bring tears to your eyes.
The Grace Card is full of hurting, blame, loss, forgiveness and sacrifice.
The main story is when someone does something against you, you will forgive them and love them even if they don’t ask-that’s The Grace Card.
My three youngest children 17, 18 and 20 watched it and approved it. They are hard to please, but have really loved it and will watch it again.
The end of this movie is so fantastic and amazing you will be brought to tears.
I give this the highest rating possible. A must see movie!

MY REVIEW
The Crossmaker is one of the most beautiful Easter DVDs for children I have seen. The first 16 minutes is a fantastic story of a boy and how he came to be at the crucifixion. The pictures are chalk art and I must say it is so very moving and touching. The Crossmaker really holds the interest of anyone who watches, but gives the full Easter story and is very powerful. If this DVD didn’t have anything else, but this story I would highly recommend it, but there is so much more to watch and enjoy.
Next on the DVD are three art lessons and they are fantastic! The first one is Creative Lettering which is 28 minutes, by Heidi Shorts, and then the next is from the Art Teacher Pat Knepley. She shows a step-by-step lesson using chalk pastels, which is 32 minutes. The last art lesson is by Jim Pence. He does water colors and that lesson is 25 minutes. All of these lessons have a Bible theme with a short talk about Jesus and doing the right things.
The bonus features have lots of super things in it also. You will hear the artists Jan Roper and Kevin Dukes singing and performing songs to go along with the extras. The chalk artist Gloria Kohlmann draws a beautiful picture of the Easter story. It’s just amazing and you will be drawn into the music, picture and story.
Another part I really like is called Watch and Hear; it is a simple plan of salvation for children. It is so easy to understand and very creative.
The Easter Story-The Crossmaker can be enjoyed by anyone three and older and the art lessons will be enjoyed by anyone six and older.
I highly recommend this wonderful DVD for an Easter gift to be loved and enjoyed by you and your children/grandchildren for years to come.

MY REVIEW
This is a really neat DVD for home schoolers or any family who wants to teach children about Art. It was made for elementary-aged children/classrooms. I received the first Volume-Art Lessons 1-4. The titles of the lessons are: Lesson 1-Tools of the Trade, Lesson 2-It all starts with a line, Lesson 3-Contours & Composition. The lessons are about 10 minutes each with a very nice part where a Bible passage is read and a little explaination. These are short enough to keep the attention of any child. The instructor Pat Knepley is very clear in her teaching and has a very sweet disposition. When my children first started school we home schooled them and we never had anything this wonderful. I believe your home school would really benefit from such wonderful, clear teaching. Also as a bonus on this DVD shows a Chalk Artist and she instructs children on how to do a chalk drawing. That was really amazing to me, because I love Chalk Artist. Also her instructions were very clear and easy to follow.
I highly recommend this set of Art Lessons. It would be a great gift for yourself, your children or grandchildren.

The Way Home DVD review and GIVEAWAY

"The Way Home: The Inspirational True Story"

On March 31, 2000, Randy Simpkins came home early from the office to help his wife, Christal, pack for a vacation to the beach. Christal asked Randy to load their two year-old, Joe, into his car seat. Instead, Randy left Joe riding his tricycle in the driveway while he went inside to turn off the lights and lock up. They lived on a rural farm in a safe area. Their kids played outside all the time. Randy didn’t give it a second thought to leave Joe for a couple of minutes, figuring he’d be cooped up long enough on the drive to the beach.
When Randy returned outside, Joe was gone. His tricycle was laying on its side, motionless. Randy called for Joe and looked around the yard. He was greeted with an eerie silence. A sudden feeling of panic rushed over him like a wave. Randy did not realize it at the time, but the next eight hours would put him through a life-altering rollercoaster of emotions that would challenge his priorities regarding God, his family and community.

Dean Cain, as Randy Simpkins, plays the father of Little Joe and a man at a crossroads in his life. A familiar face to the screen, he portrayed Clark Kent and his alter-ego Superman in the hit TV series “Lois and Clark-The New Adventures of Superman_ (1993-1997) and is the host of Ripley’s Believe It of Not. As a graduate of Princeton University, Dean has worked in both TV and film media.

Lori Beth Edgeman portrays Christal Simpkins, the frantic mother of Little Joe struggling to bring her family back together. She is from Dalton, Georgia and most people will remember her as Candace from the TV hit “Army Wives.”

Sonny Shroyer appears as Ed Walker, a volunteer reliving his past while searching for Little Joe. A veteran of television and film, he is fondly remembered as Deputy Enos from The Dukes of Hazard. He is from Valdosta, Georgia.

THIS IS A PICTURE OF THE REAL SIMPKINS

My Review
The Way Home starring Dean Cain, is a Christian movie by Lionsgate Productions and is the best movie I’ve seen this year. One reason I love it so much is it is a true story. Randy, Christal and family were just about ready to go on vacation. While getting things into the van, their 2 year old son Joe disappeared.
The 91 minute movie tells of the search and how everyone came together to help. Many churches formed prayer chains and came out to search. Randy is forced to deal with his life and priorities, while his faith is tested, and his marriage is close to falling apart. It shows how the searchers (police, fire etc..) work together and have a big job.
The actors/actresses in this movie are fantastic. A lot of Christian movies can’t say this. Only because they can’t afford more well known actors. It held my three youngest children’s and my attention and no one wanted to miss a single minute. Many times during the movie I was moved to tears. The emotions run high in this movie. The Way Home has the Dove Family Approved seal.
The part of Ed searching for Joe, was really special. Many years ago Ed lost his brother in a car accident and his name was Joe. So even through Ed had heart surgery just a few months ago he still felt he needed to search. He just had to help so someone else didn’t lose someone they loved. It was such a very, very touching part when Ed found Joe.
If you have or did have younger children it will give you an appreciation for their safety. At the end of the movie during the credits it shows the real Joe as he has looked over the years and has grown.
In special features the real Randy and Christal tell the story in their own words. It’s just amazing to hear their story and see how close it is to the movie. It is touching at how much this has changed Randy. His heart is tender and full of love for the Lord.
I know I’ve told you a lot about the movie, but it is so good it just needed to be told. If you don’t buy any other DVD this year buy The Way Home. I love, love, love this movie. I highly recommend this movie.

The Mysterious Islands DVD review and GIVEAWAY

About the DVD
At the far end of the world, there exists a strange and unusual chain of islands, resting above vast tectonic plates in the ocean below.

This is the world of the Galapagos Archipelago, home to salt-spitting marine iguanas, flightless cormorants, and giant tortoises that can live to be more than 150 years of age. It is also the birthplace of Darwinism. For here in 1835, a young Charles Darwin began to formulate a theory which would turn the world upside down. More than a century and a half later, these mysterious islands remain at the center of a controversy that has shaped the way modern men perceive science, religion, culture, and life itself. While Christians look to Jerusalem, and Muslims to Mecca, evolutionists look to the Galapagos as the spiritual center of their scientific faith. And the unique ingredients found on the Galapagos Islands have led many of Darwin's most devoted followers to describe it as Darwin's Eden, and a "laboratory for evolution."

Now, for the 200th anniversary of Darwin's birth and the 150th of his magnum opus, On the Origin of Species, Doug Phillips leads a Christian team of scientists and investigators to this "ground zero" in the war of the worldviews. Seen through the eyes of 16-year-old Joshua Phillips, who joins his father and noted researchers like Dr. John Morris of the Institute for Creation Research, The Mysterious Islands is the story of one boy's search for answers to the greatest controversy of the modern world. It is a refreshing father and son adventure that combines cinematically breathtaking footage with high adventure. The Mysterious Islands is a fast-paced film that tracks their journey of discovery as this unusual team walks where Darwin walked and engages with the amazing creatures that he chronicled in his research. Their quest: To determine whether the Galapagos Islands are a laboratory for evolution, as Darwinists claim, or a showcase for the biblical account of creation.

This beautiful ninety-minute documentary takes viewers deep beneath the ocean waves among hundreds of white-tip sharks, into volcanic craters with giant lizards, and to the unusual habitat of the blue-footed booby. Featuring a Christian team of scientists and investigators to shoot a documentary on the Galapagos in 2009—Darwin's anniversary year—The Mysterious Islands brings a fresh perspective on the Theory of Evolution and presents sweeping cinematography of one of the most remote, desolate, and fascinating locations in the world.

THE TEAM

Joshua Phillips
At the age of 16 Joshua Phillips has distinguished himself as a world explorer who has surfed the great sand dunes of Peru, hiked the top of Mt. Saribachi with veterans of the Battle of Iwo Jima, climbed Ben Nevis in the highlands of Scotland, and summitted Huana Piccu, high in the Andes Mountains, temple grounds of the ancient Incas.A product of America's thriving home education movement, the eldest of eight children and son to Doug and Beall Phillips.

Doug Phillips
The Mysterious Islands Project was birthed during a trip to the Andes Mountains in Peru when Doug Phillips heard of legends that ancient Incas may have visited the Galapagos. With the anniversary year of Darwin's birth and his magnum opus just around the corner, and with evolutionists from all over the world flocking to this "ground zero" of the Darwinian worldview, it was determined that a unique team of Christian explorers, scientists and filmmakers needed to be assembled to walk in the steps of Darwin, to see what he saw and to ask the question: "Is the Galapagos really a laboratory of evolution, or a glorious testimony of God's creation?"

Jon Erwin
Award winning producer and director Jon Erwin is no stranger to action-oriented filmmaking. Whether he is gunning and running, camera-in hand, tracking pro-athletes for ESPN, or filming 85 feet below the surface in the waters of the Galapagos, surrounded by more than one hundred white-tipped sharks, Jon is not satisfied unless he gets "the shot" every time.

Andy Erwin
It's been a big year for award-winning filmmaker Andy Erwin. Fresh from his world-premiere success with the noteworthy "God Provides" film series where he directed veteran actor and Disney star Dean Jones in the role of Abraham, Andy, his brother Jon decided to take on the daunting task of challenging the theory of evolution right from ground zero of modern Darwinism---the Galapagos Islands.

Dr. John Morris
After more than thirty years as one of the world's foremost spokesmen on the Bible and science, Dr. John Morris was able to realize a long-time dream when he traveled to the Galapagos Islands, the spiritual nerve center of the modern evolutionary movement. Dr. Morris brings his considerable experience and knowledge to The Mysterious Islands documentary project. An

acclaimed geologist

Dr. Tom Ford
Dr. Tom Ford III is a Ph.D. in biomechanics, an especially helpful discipline when examining one of Darwin's greatest errors?the belief that homology (or the study of comparative anatomies) is one of the gateways to proving evolution.

Peter Bradrick
Peter Bradrick works on the side as an independent logistics consultant specializing in event coordination, executive protection, and personnel management.

THE ANIMALS

My Review
The Mysterious Islands is a very beautiful, extremely well put together 90 minute DVD. It is a Christian documentary film about the theory of evolution vs. creationism. Seven men went on the 200th anniversary of Darwin’s birth and 150th anniversary of his trip to the Galapagos Islands to view what Darwin saw and tell their story through the creation stand point. The Galapagos Islands is where Darwin first went and spent a long time trying to get ideas of how to support his evolution theory.
The quality of the DVD and still pictures are so remarkable. You will be amazed at the music and content of this DVD. You will learn many new things that prove creation. Evolutionist have nothing to stand on.
If you didn’t want to watch this DVD to see about creation or evolution Just looking at the Islands and animals would make this DVD well worth watching. The animals on these beautiful Islands are so amazing. From the Galapagos Tortoise, Blue-Footed Booby, Land Iguana, Vampire Finch and the beautiful Whales. All are so special. You will be astonished at the Island with the red sand and the beach with the black lava rocks.
The Vision Forum Ministries which made this DVD makes it very clear what separates Creationist and Evolutionist. If you have ever wondered before you won’t anymore once you watch this DVD. I also think it would be really helpful to have your youth group watch this or your Bible study group. If you don’t do these things you really, really need to have your family watch it.
In this DVD you will find out who Darwin was and where he got his ideas; what specifically does natural selection do (and not do) what are the comparable characteristics between animals designate does geology really point to an really old earth and some explanation of how Darwin's ideas have influenced history.
On the special features of this DVD you will learn about early explorers to the Galápagos and the Galápagos Whaling Controversy {I especially like this feature about the whales} and many beautiful, spectacular still photos of animals,
I highly recommend this DVD. It is one that you need to have and I know you will watch it over and over and lend it to all of your friends.
