Everything is Possible by Jen Bricker A Review

ABOUT EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE
Born without Legs, She Inspires Others to Overcome

Jen Bricker was born without legs. Shocked and uncertain they could care for her, her biological parents gave her up for adoption. In her loving adoptive home, there was just one simple rule: "Never say 'can't.'" And pretty soon, there was nothing this small but mighty powerhouse set her sights on that she couldn't conquer: roller-skating, volleyball, power tumbling, and spinning from silk ribbons thirty feet in the air.

Everything Is Possible is her incredible story--a story of God working out his plan for her life from before day one. Readers follow Jen from the challenges of growing up different to holding captive audiences numbering in the tens of thousands. Everything Is Possible shows readers what they can accomplish when they remove the words coincidence and limitation from their vocabulary. Filled with heart and spirit, as well as Jen's wit, wisdom, and no-holds-barred honesty, this inspiring true story points the way to purpose and joy. Foreword by Nick Vujicic.

MY REVIEW
Everything is Possible by Jen Bricker is an amazing book. Jen was born without legs and her parents left her at the hospital. She was adopted by a wonderful family who said Never say can’t. So Jen did everything everyone else did she didn’t let anything hold her back.
Jen really loves the Lord and clings to Him for everything. She has done many things already in her young life and has big plans for the future. She is such a funny, wise girl and you will love her outlook on life.
It’s an amazing thing how Jen found her sisters and Mom and how they now love each other.
I recommend this book, because it will lift you up from your everyday life. Very good.

Silent Cry by Dorothy J. Newton A Review

ABOUT SILENT CRY
Raised near New Orleans as one of six children, Dorothy Newton was surrounded by abuse and poverty as she grew up. But she became the first in her family to graduate from college and moved out of poverty. She then began to live out her dreams in Dallas of a better home and life when she married celebrity superstar football player Nate Newton. She had gone from poverty to the pinnacle of success. She was married to a handsome, successful, famous professional athlete, who was a three time Super Bowl Champion and six time Pro-Bowler for the Dallas Cowboys.

But all that glittered was not gold.

Before long the relationship turned abusive. She found herself living in the world she thought she had escaped in her years growing up. The world did not see her suffering behind closed doors—she was betrayed, treated abusively, threatened continually. Dorothy was trapped with no one to talk to and nowhere to run. In this book Dorothy shares her experiences of pain, loss, survival, hope, recovery, and victory. A gripping story throughout, A Silent Cry is a testament to Dorothy’s will to live and the peace that comes with hope in the God who sees and hears your tears—even when no one else does

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
From a young age she witnessed her stepfather physically and verbally abuse her mother—images that would haunt her for years. Though she promised herself that she would never be in such a marriage, like so many others, she repeated her mother’s pattern—her abuser just happened to be a loved celebrity—a Super Bowl NFL football champion with the Dallas Cowboys. Who would believe her even if she dared to reveal her painful secret?

Dorothy is the Practice Administrator for a health care organization, where she is pursuing her M.B.A.  She is the proud mother of two boys—Nathaniel Newton III (Tre’), who is on an athletic scholarship at the University of Texas, and Nate King Newton. She has appeared on numerous television and radio programs as the former wife of retired Dallas Cowboy’s NFL player Nathaniel Newton, Jr.

MY REVIEW
Silent Cry by Dorothy J. Newton is an excellent book. An autobiography that tells of abuse that is mentally and physically. Dorothy tells about her childhood and how her father abused her mother and how Dorothy was never going to get into a relationship where abuse was.
Dorothy was/is a very intellect person. She stayed so very close to God, because He is the only one Dorothy could trust to not hurt her or leave her. Dorothy was the first one in her family to graduate college and become a woman who could support herself. She didn’t want to end up like her mother staying in a relationship because she didn’t have any money or anyone to go to, to get away from an abusive relationship.
Then Dorothy met Nate Newton famous superstar football player for the Dallas Cowboys. Things were fine for a while and Dorothy gave up her job and depended on Nate. Then he started abusing her and the cycle started all over again. In Silent Cry Dorothy tells about the things she went through and how she never would have made it if she didn’t have the Lord in her life. Besides the physical, emotional abuse Dorothy put up with a cheating, lying husband and stood by him in all things.
She reported Nate’s behavior several times, but him being a superstar no one would believe her or take her side.
She stayed until she feared for her life and what it would do to their sons if she stayed. Read this book of incredible faith and how Dorothy made a new life for herself. She now helps other people in the same situation she was in. A very extraordinary book. Highly recommended.
