HARBOR OF THE HEART by Katherine Spencer a review

ABOUT HARBOR OF THE HEART

Like the seashells that show up on the beaches, the people of Angel Island arrive from many places and with varied pasts. Yet they all find a safe harbor there…and the gift of hope.

Liza Martin and Daniel Merritt are closer than ever. She alone knows that he gave up his medical practice because he blamed himself for endangering a patient. But she is completely shocked to hear that Daniel is now considering returning to a medical career…which may mean leaving Angel Island—and Liza.

Daniel struggles to make this decision, but they are both put to the test when a sailor wrecks his boat in a vicious storm. Liza witnesses Daniel’s medical skills firsthand and finally understands why she must let him pursue his career. If only that didn’t mean sacrificing the love of her life…

The sailor, Nolan Porter, survives thanks to Daniel’s skill. But moments earlier he had considered ending his life due to losing his career and his family. Still, no matter how desperate he feels, the residents of Angel Island will not let him give up. Over the course of the summer, Nolan’s tragedy becomes a blessing. And what better way to celebrate than to share one’s blessings with others.

MY REVIEW
Harbor of the Heart by Katherine Spencer is book 5 in the Angel Island series. I’ve read almost all of this series and totally love this one. I wasn’t asked to review it, but got it from the library.
It tells of the continuing love story of Liza owner of the Inn at Angel Island and Daniel former handy man but now wants to get back into medicine. Things are going so well for these two and than disaster strikes. How can they have a marriage and live so far apart.
Also at the beginning of the story Nolan appears in a ship wreck that Daniel helps to save. Nolan and Claire, cook, housekeeper and friend, become very close friends, even though Nolan and Claire are from very different backgrounds.  So love is all around the Inn.
I don’t want to tell you to much about this story so I will leave it at that, but this book is very worth reading. It will keep you up late into the night.
Really loved Harbor of the Heart and highly recommend this new, interesting story.

Book Review-A Wandering Heart by Thomas Kinkade and Katherine Spencer

ABOUT A WANDERING HEART
All the stars come out in Cape Light...

New York Times bestselling authors Thomas Kinkade and Katherine Spencer continue their Angel Island series with a sparkling new tale set in Cape Light. Celebrity has landed on Angel Island, but it's new love that steals the show.

Welcome to Angel Island. . . .Its captivating spirit can be felt from the shores of its windswept beaches to the heights of its spectacular Angel Wings Cliffs. The island is said to harbor angels who help guide the lost, delivering them from despair and darkness into the golden light of love and faith.

A movie crew arrives to shoot a film in Cape Light and Angel Island provides a perfect backdrop. Offering good food and a place to rest, Liza's Inn welcomes the cast and crew, including the famous actress Charlotte Miller. Charlotte is surprisingly down to earth and is totally charmed by the island, especially the Inn, where she chooses to stay instead of more lavish accommodations. But one day, along the water's edge, Charlotte is swept into the sea, only to have her life saved by local fisherman, Colin Doyle. Their attraction is instant and undeniable-even though they come from completely different worlds.

As Charlotte spends more time on the island, the relationship seems meant to be. They keep meeting up, by accident at first, then on purpose. But Colin believes he has little to offer this celebrated beauty. He doesn't realize that Charlotte would give up her glamorous life, for him and Angel Island, if only she knew his true feelings. For he alone knows her secret and accepts her completely. It seems only a miracle could bring them together. Then again, with faith and love on their side, Angel Island is just the sort of place where miracles can happen...

MY REVIEW
A Wandering Heart is such a tender, compassionate story. Full  of love, romance, heart ache and hope that it is one of my favorite books. Writing this review is sweet and hard for me at the same time. I just love this style of writing, but am saddened that Thomas Kinkade won’t be writing anymore since he is now gone from us, but I’m hoping Katherine Spencer will continue to write more in this series, because I’ve come to love the characters and places so much.
When I read a book and wish I could live in that place it is hard when the book ends.
Charlotte is a famous movie star and her and her cast come to Angel Island to film some of her newest movie. She falls into the sea and fisherman Colin rescues her. Their love story is so tender, but will it last, because their lives are so different. Will love reign in the end or is this just a summer romance?
We hear about the wonderful Inn on Angel Island with Liza, Claire and Daniel and the neighbors that run the goat farm. How the neighbors - Audrey and Rob want to start a family so badly, but are having all kinds of trouble.
This book A Wandering Heart turned out great and I will be satisfied if Katherine Spencer doesn’t write anymore to the series, but would love if she did.
A Wandering Heart is such a fantastic book and one I highly recommend. You will love it as I did.

The Wedding Promise by Thomas Kinkade and Katherine Spencer*A Review

The Inn at Angel Island is officially open for business, and owner Liza Martin has booked her first major event-a June wedding. Jennifer, the bride, met her fiancé on the island when they were teenagers, and she's always dreamed of being married at the Inn. Liza wants to make sure that Jennifer has a perfect wedding day, but she soon notices tension between the bride and groom and begins to wonder: What good is the most spectacular setting or cake if the love between the couple isn't as beautiful and strong?

Liza is hoping everything will come together, but on the day of the wedding a storm rolls in-and the groom is nowhere to be found. Everything is going wrong, and Liza realizes that it will take nothing short of a miracle to make this wedding a success. Then again, if you have faith and love, Angel Island is just the sort of place where miracles can happen.

MY REVIEW
The Wedding Promise by Thomas Kinkade and Katherine Spencer is a very, very excellent book.
Liza takes over an Inn on Angel Island that her Aunt and Uncle use to run. They have passed away, so Liza and her brother could sell the Inn or run it. They decided to run it. That was what Book 1 The Inn at Angel Island was about. It was a super book also. In this book The Wedding Promise two young people fell in love in this area and thought it would be wonderful to be married at the Inn. Liza is very new at the Inn business and had never done a wedding, besides the Inn needs a lot of repairs. So we find out how the wedding was planned, how some repairs were made and saw the love of the young couple and also a sweet story of Liza and her favorite handy man.
This book is so well written and it is really high quality work. I enjoyed it completely and wanted the story to continue, but it ended at a fantastic place. Can’t wait for book 3, hopefully there will be one.
Dreams, secrets, sadness, joy and miracles all happen in The Wedding Promise.
I also always love Thomas’ art work on the cover of their books. Fantastic painter and author. I’m very pleased with his work and fine attention to detail. This book is definitely a keeper. I love to see this book on my book shelf. I highly recommend The Wedding Promise and wish I could give it more than 5 stars.
