Lis Wiehl is a Harvard Law School graduate and former federal prosecutor. A widely popular legal analyst and commentator for the Fox News Channel, Wiehl appears regularly on The O'Reilly Factor and was co-host with Bill O'Reilly on the widely-syndicated radio show, The Radio Factor, for the past seven years. April Henry has written seven mysteries and thrillers. Her books have been short-listed for the Agatha Award, the Anthony Award, and the Oregon Book Award. Two have been chosen for BookSense. April lives in Portland, Oregon, with her husband and daughter.

MY REVIEW
  Snapshot by Lis Wiehl is an excellent Mystery/Suspense novel. Lis’s dad gave her of photograph of her and another little girl at Civil Rights Movement. So Lis took that photograph and made a fictional story out of it. What an amazing idea to tell a story from a real photograph. What a wonderful job she did.
  This story is also a story of the relationships between father/daughter and man/woman. I love the characters and the scenes. Even the evil characters are quite intriguing. You will be captivated as the plot unwinds.
   I like how everything and most departments covered up the real mystery in this case.  Even the FBI and why they did it.  Lis Wiehl is an excellent author and she outdid herself in this novel. It is full of suspense, mystery, relationships and love.  The ending was superb and I highly recommend this fantastic book.

MY REVIEW
  Stress Test by Dr. Richard Mabry is a fantastic interesting read. I love this book and can’t wait to read other books by Dr. Mabry. From the very first page I was hooked and read the book through in two days.
  I was really surprised at who ordered the murders and tried to frame Dr. Matt Newman. It is a well put together story. Loved all of the medical talk and different cases. Liked how a few people stood by Matt when he was going through his toughest time.
 The characters are excellent and well described. It is just an all round fantastic suspenseful story. This is a book you won’t be able to put down until it’s completely read. I love it and highly recommend it. A 5-star book for sure.

ABOUT BETH WISEMAN
When a personal crisis tested and strengthened her faith, award-winning journalist Beth Wiseman was advised by her agent to consider writing a Christian novel, particularly an Amish one. MY REVIEW
  Need You Now by Beth Wiseman is an O.K. book. I know most people really love it, but it’s just not something I would read again.
  I like the setting of the story. It is a small town in Texas and the family of five go from big city life to the country and live next door to a famous movie star.
   The family believes in God and loves Him, but when things get difficult they seem to pull away from Him. That also happened to the neighbor. I know that doesn’t or shouldn’t happen in life. When things go wrong is when we should just get closer to the Lord and let Him help us through these times. I think it has a lack of spiritual insight from the characters.
  Need You Now is full of troubles that a family and friends go through, but I think this book showed how not to go about our troubles. This book has all kinds of things going on from Darlene the wife wanting to get a job so she could be independent and her husband not liking it because he wants to take care of the family. The daughter hurting her self because she can’t show her feeling, the son picking the wrong friends and Darlene thinks her husband is having an affair. Darlene chooses to be friends with a man and share her feelings. It just all goes wrong in my opionion.
  It’s an O.K. book for a read on a rainy day, but not one to keep.

Three Hearts DVD * A Review

Graduating college senior, Cissie Graham Lynch, granddaughter of evangelist Billy Graham, takes on an internship at Samaritan’s Purse working with the Children’s Heart Project. This project is dedicated to saving the lives of children by providing medical procedures that aren’t available in many countries. Cissie is charged with supervising the arrival and surgeries of three Mongolian children suffering from fatal congenital heart defects.

But the task is not easy and filled with unexpected challenges. Cissie balances responsibilities as a newly married wife to a professional football player and her tasks with the internship. Meanwhile the Children’s Heart team turns to a Texas family who travels to Mongolia for the adventure of a lifetime to help bring the children to San Antonio for their surgeries. In Texas, two host families make sacrifices to care for these children and their mothers, while a team of doctors and nurses volunteer their time only to stare directly into the face of life and death. How far would you go to save a life?

It’s a fight for survival, a fight of faith, and a fight for a new life for these three hearts.

MY REVIEW
  I really, really love this DVD. I have always had great faith and love for Billy Graham and his ministry.
  Cissie Graham Lynch is Billy Graham’s granddaughter and the daughter of Franklin Graham. Franklin Graham is the head of Samaritan’s Purse and The Children’s Heart Project is part of Samaritan’s Purse.
  This DVD shows Cissie and a group of people who arrange for three children from Mongolia to come to the US to have heart surgery that they wouldn’t be able to have there.
  This DVD goes through the whole process of chosing the children talking to the parents and bringing them over on the plane with one of their parents. Most of the times this is the first time any of them have been out of their country and it’s all so new to them.
  They have host families who are with them through the whole process and they offer there homes and everything they have.
  During this time they are in the US they are taken to church and told the gospel story and see first hand people doing and showing the work of the Lord. Most of the children and parents become Christians and that is the main thing The Children’s Heart Project is about.
  Right now there are 200 children in Mongolia who need heart surgery. Bringing each child over cost $2,200. One boy here in the US had to have that same surgery and so this project is really dear to him. This boy and family/friends raised over $8,000. I would love to do something like this someday.
  I think this DVD would be a great tool for church groups and family groups to really explain how they need and can raise money. It shows all of the steps they have to go through.
I highly recommend this DVD. It has awakened in me a great need and a way to help children.
