The Good Book DVD ~A Review~

ABOUT THE GOOD BOOK DVD
The Good Book, an evangelistic SILENT feature about a small Bible that is passed along to fourteen strangers, impacting the lives of seven of those individuals. The story is told via dramatic action and dynamic soundtrack. It closes with testimonies from a Bible smuggler and a convicted murderer who received a Bible while in prison.

The Good Book movie is the first evangelical silent feature to be released since sound was added to movies.  It tells the story of a small New Testament that is passed along from individual to individual. These include young and old, rich and poor, blessed and forsaken. For seven of the strangers, it provides hope and meaning when they need it most.

Mainstreet Productions husband and wife team Fred and Sharon Wilharm produced their first faith-based feature in 2000. The Good Book  movie is their fifth. Past movies include Class of 91 and Flowers for Fannie. When he's not making movies, Fred is busy producing commercials, web videos, and music videos. Sharon is the editor/ writer for Faith Flix, a blog focused on faith-based filmmaking.

MY REVIEW
The Good Book is stories about several different people/families. A small Bible travels to each of these people and they are helped by it and then it goes on to someone else. I really liked how the Bible was the main theme of this movie, but I didn’t like how no words were spoken in The Good Book. Some people say you can get more out of something by just watching it , but for me it didn’t work. I must say though the music in the background was very lovely and inspirational.
It was an enjoyable DVD, but could have been much better with words.  The Good Book has a strong Biblical based story and keeps you entertained.

MY REVIEW
Her First Bible-Stories for Little Hearts is just an adorable book. It makes a wonderful Bible for the very young. Parents will have to read it to their children, but the pictures and words are just precious. Learning about Jesus no matter how young is very important for any child.
This little book measures 4 X 6 inches and comes in pink, but there is also a book for boys in blue. This Bible could work as a gift for your little ones first birthday or as I did give to a mother at a baby shower.
I love that this Bible comes with a hardcover and has a trim size.
The words on the pages (96 pages) are simple, short and some are cute like nursery rhymes. This wonderful book will keep even the youngest interested and wanting to hear the wonderful words time and time again.
Really recommend this precious Bible.
