My Review:
This is an amazing true story. Dale Black was 19, a normal rebellious teenager. More than anything Dale loved to fly. He worked very hard to be able to afford lessons and got his pilot licenses. He went on a flight with two friends and at take off a horrible accident happened. Dale’s two friends were killed and he survived. Amazingly Dale didn’t have any internal injuries. While Dale was in a coma he visited Heaven.
Only two chapters are about his Heavenly visit, but they are precious. I love to read about those whom God has blessed with a Heavenly visit. Makes me want more than anything to go to my homeland.
Flight to Heaven tells of Dale before and after the accident. When he first came to I was amazed at his love of the people that he saw. It is the love of God. The book goes on to tell of Dale’s journey of faith and his learning of the Lord’s peace and comfort. As Capt. Dale finds out if we give our whole lives over to the Lord and put Him first, we will be more content and the Lord will answer our prayers.
You will find out all of the struggles and hardships Capt. Dale had to go through because of his accident. The many doctor appointments and surgeries.
Flight to Heaven is a very interesting, precious, joyful book. I highly recommend this. You will be amazed and full of peace after reading it.

My review
This is a neat devotional book. There are 52 chapters, one for each week of the year. They are short, but leave you with many things to think of. Each chapter has the devotional than a part called ASK YOURSELF-which has a question that will start you thinking. Then the last part called PONDER THIS. In that part you really get to think about things. The author brings up a lot of neat things to ponder.
The only thing I really couldn’t understand in this devotional book is which chapter of the Bible the author wants you to read for each devotional. I’ve searched through the book and can’t locate that. If the author lets me know I will change this and write what chapters or books go along with the devotional.
For the most part this book is really an excellent book to read and I recommend it.

The Bishop by Steven James-a review

A Patrick Bowers Thiller!

Price: $14.99
ISBN: 978-0-8007-3302-5
ISBN-10: 0-8007-3302-9
Dimensions: 5.5 x 8.5
Number of pages: 528
Carton Quantity: 28
Publication Date: Aug. 10

About the Book
The game is on.
FBI Special Agent Patrick Bowers's cutting-edge skills are about to be pushed to the limit when a young woman is found brutally murdered in Washington DC. Her killers continue a spree of perfect crimes in the Northeast, but with nothing to link them to each other, Agent Bowers faces his most difficult case yet--even as his personal life begins to crumble around him.
The Bishop is a gripping, adrenaline-laced story for readers who are tired of timid thrillers. Strap on your seat belt and get ready for a wild ride.

About the author
Critically acclaimed author Steven James has written more than twenty books, including the bestselling thriller series The Bowers Files. One of the nation's most innovative storytellers, Steven developed his skill as a performer at East Tennessee State University (MA in storytelling). He lives in Tennessee with his wife and three daughters.

My Review
The Bishop by Steven James is much more than a thriller From the prologue until the last page the characters and twisting plot will make you want to read more and the finish will make you glad this is a series.

This is the fourth Bowers Files novel. I didn’t read the first three, wish I had. Steven James is an excellent author. He is new to me and I’m so glad I was able to read this book. The Bishop has over 500 pages, but the plot moves quickly. This book has short chapters, which I love. It is a book which is hard to put down.

Steven James does an excellent job summarizing the previous books so you know what’s going on. The first three books are The Pawn, The Rook and The Knight. I want to read these books now even though I know some of the parts from the first stories.

Patrick Bowers is an FBI criminologist. It is Patrick’s job to track the country's most dangerous killers. Tessa is Patrick’s brilliant seventeen-year-old stepdaughter She does a lot of eye-rolling and is good at sarcasm, but does it in a way that is sweet.
Tessa is just beginning to trust Pat when she meets her birth father. That causes difficulty when he wants custody.

The characters are trying to find the meaning of human existence. No one really professes to be a Christian in this book, but they are searching. I would have liked more depth of Christianity.
In The Bishop the author lets you see inside of an evil mind. It is quite evil and full of hate and despair. We see horrific murder scenes, and brilliant mingle of characters, conversation, and mystery.

I would highly recommend this book if you don’t mind gory, scary scenes and it doesn’t bother you to hear about people plotting and doing evil things. I found it quite brilliant and really enjoyed it. I really love books that keep my interest from the very beginning and look forward to reading.
