MY REVIEW
Read and Share 5 Minute Bible Stories is such an excellent book. The stories are retold, by Gwen Ellis.
The size of the book is fantastic. It is an 8x10 and such lovely pictures that we come to expect with the Read and Share books. Just looking at the pictures you could guess the stories, but the words add so much more.  The stories go from Genesis to Revelation.
In this Bible book you will find adventures and learn things about God that your child will love to hear. These stories and pictures will be imprinted on your child’s heart and in their minds forever. Really a beautiful book that is a amazing gift idea. Full of fun, adventure and truths. Highly recommended.

Rise and Shine A Contemporary Fairy Tale by Sandra D. Bricker A Review

ABOUT RISE AND SHINE
Shannon Malone thought she'd found her happy ending when she married Edmund Ridgeway, but a diving accident on their honeymoon left her in a coma. Waking up to the news that she's thirty years old would have been daunting enough . . . but she also learns that Edmund has lost his interim battle with cancer and the world has marched on without her. Her gorgeous doctor, Daniel Petros, seems to know everything about her and becomes Shannon's tour guide into a whole new world of madness where reality television has taken over the planet and everyone's life appears to revolve around a tiny screen on their cell phones!

As Shannon struggles to navigate through the changes-both in the world andin her-she also must discern real memories from imagined ones. Did she really ever wear capris pants and entertain in her living room, or was that Laura Petrie from her favorite classic TV show? And where is her beloved dog, Freeway? Oh, wait! That was Jonathan and Jennifer Hart's dog, not hers.

Shannon's three elderly aunts flit through her life in true Sleeping Beautystyle with her well-being always a priority. And Edmund's sister Millicent descends like the Evil Queen she is, trying to extract Shannon from any claim on the Ridgeway family fortune. When a tornado moves through town and Shannon is knocked unconscious, will Daniel's kiss awaken her once and for all?

MY REVIEW
Rise and Shine by Sandra D. Bricker is a very sweet, cute, love story. It’s a present day fairy tale.
I found it very interesting and sweet. Imiange being in a coma for 10 years and coming back to the world. So many things would be different. Not just technology, but clothes styles, the way people view life, family and friends and even yourself.
In Rise and Shine Shannon is newly married has a diving accident and doesn’t wake up for 10 years. During those 10 years her husband faithfully waits for her, but Cancer hits him.
She wakes up and has to face so many things at once. How does she handle everything? Will she ever be happy again? What of the doctor that has taken care of her for that long?
A very interesting concept and really sweet ending. Highly recommend Rise and Shine. Sandra D. Bricker is an excellent author.

Called for Life by Kent & Amber Brantly with David Thomas A Review

ABOUT CALLED FOR LIFE
“Kent, bud. We got your test result.  And I’m really sorry to tell you that it is positive for Ebola.”

Dr. Kent and Amber Brantly moved with their children to war-torn Liberia in the fall of 2013 to provide medical care for people in great need—to help replace hopelessness with hope. When, less than a year later, Kent contracted the deadly Ebola virus, hope became what he and Amber needed too.

When Kent received the diagnosis, he was already alone and in quarantine in the Brantly home in Liberia. Amber and the children had left just days earlier on a trip to the United States. Kent’s personal battle against the horrific Ebola began, and as thousands of people worldwide prayed for his life, a miraculous series of events unfolded.

Called for Life tells the riveting inside story of Kent and Amber’s call to serve their neighbors, as well as Kent’s fight for life with Ebola and Amber’s’ struggle to support him from half-a-world away. Most significantly, Called for Life reminds us of the risk, the honor, and the joy to be known when God and others are served without reservation.

“Dr. Kent Brantly is responsible for one of the worst weeks of my life. When I told
him that, he smiled and said, ‘It wasn’t that great for me either!’ But Kent gives
God the credit for saving his life and surviving the deadly Ebola virus that infected
him while serving others in the name of Jesus. Dr. Brantly and his wife, Amber,
went obediently to Liberia to serve with Samaritan’s Purse as medical missionaries,
and were the recipients of prayers from around the world as they battled an attack
that threatened their future. The world watched as Kent was successfully trans ported back to the United States from Africa. International media outlets captured
his every step as he walked from the ambulance into Atlanta’s Emory University
Hospital, where he found physical restoration—a miracle from God. You will be
riveted by this extraordinary couple who are called for life to serve the Lord Jesus
Christ—the Great Physician!”  —Franklin Graham, president and CEO, Samaritan’s Purse

MY REVIEW
Called for Life, the true story of the Ebola epidemic and how Kent Brantly got it and how he recovered.
This is a very interesting book and I’m so glad I got to review it.
You will read how Kent and Amber met, how they came to live in Liberia and the many things they went through with other contacted Ebola and then the struggle Kent had with Ebola. It’s just amazing how God spared his life.
We really don’t realize all of the hardships other countries face. They don’t have the medical advances Americans have, they don’t have the simple and standard medical equipment needed to run a hospital. Like the simple plastic tubing they use to put in the nose to give oxygen to patients, the hospital only had three, where in America they use them one time and throw them away. Also not many drugs to treat the sick and many, many other supplies.
Kent made sure everyone suited up properly and didn’t come in contact with the sick they suspected had Ebola.
The Lord really watched out for Kent’s family. They were all scheduled to go back to the states to go to a family wedding, but Kent had to stay for a short time. Amber and the children never came in contact with him when he got Ebola.
This is a moving, spirit filled, awesome story of how a man follows Jesus even when things go wrong and even when he is so close to death.
Every bit of this book is spectacular and full of inspiration. I highly recommend it.

MY REVIEW
When Calls the Heart-Follow your Heart is the last episode of the second season and oh what a way to end it. Now I’m just sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the Christmas special and season three to start.
So many exciting things happened in Follow your Heart. Of course we know Jack and Elizabeth had a big argument on the last episode and they aren’t talking to much.
Jack is still trying to get all of the people in the counterfeit ring, almost gets shot in this episode.
Julie misses Tom and her family doesn’t try to understand, they just want her to move on with  her life without Tom.
Abigail and Pastor Frank and getting to be closer friends, but she finds out something that makes her rethink her ideas of him.
To top all of that off Elizabeth accidentally lets Rip out of Jack’s office during a thunderstorm and he runs away. So Jack and Elizabeth are off to find him in a cave and that’s when love and disaster strikes.
Love, love, love this series and this ending episode just has me wanting to see more and more. Highly recommended for the whole family. Very good viewing for all members of your household.

MY REVIEW
This is the first time I’ve read a book by T.K. Chapin and it won’t be the last. I was fully involved in the story before the first chapter was over. It was so well written that it made you think it was a true story.
Really did love the novel.  Cole and Megan made reading the book very, very easy. I really came to like Cole and his wanting to get closer to the Lord and how he forgave and forgot what his wife did. How he wanted to become a better husband and father. Very interesting and I love the fire scenes where rescues were done. Also enjoyed this novel Amongst the Flames because like in life not only good things happen. We have heartaches, losses and disappointment, but God is always there and sees us through. Highly recommend this book. Very interesting indeed. Fantastic author.

MY REVIEW
This is just an ebook I got free a few years ago and finally have read it. What an inspiring story or 32 stories I should say.  It is full of such wonderful, precious things that have happened. You will read how God has protected or how He has sent people signs by different things that happen.
In the above section talking about this book it tells about a boy recovering from a massive brain injury. In that story a boy/young man wanted to see a miracle and God let him be in a miracle. He was in a horrible car accident with the doctors saying he wouldn’t survive and if he did he would be brain damaged. He comes through it all and doesn’t need much time to recover to his self before the accident. Afterwards he said during the accident God reached down and held his hand.
Many more stories in this book just like that. Very good and I recommend it.

Warrior in Pink by Vivian Mabuni A Review

ABOUT WARRIOR IN PINK

When young mother Vivian Mabuni was diagnosed with breast cancer three days before Christmas, she struggled to know how to respond. How do you tell your children you have cancer? How do you allow yourself to be vulnerable and ask for your family’s support? And how do you continue to trust the God who is powerful enough to prevent cancer but didn’t? Through her battle, cancer patients, family, and friends will find perspective, hope, and an honest look at what it is like to be diagnosed with and treated for cancer—as well as encouragement to know that God is present in our pain. You will also discover ways to emotionally and practically support a friend or family member who is battling cancer.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
My husband and I have been on staff with Cru (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ) for 25 years. We have ministered on the campuses of Berkeley and UCLA, led mission teams in the Philippines, East Asia and Japan, trained staff and students in evangelism, discipleship, ministry philosophy and cross-cultural ministry. We currently work with Epic Movement, the Asian American ministry of Cru. Darrin serves as the National Director of Field Ministry on the Epic National Executive team. Epic exists to reach the students and faculty on college campuses in the U.S. with the Gospel through Asian Americans. Currently we have 41 Epic movements on campuses across the country.

Our vision has always been to raise up the next generation of leaders to influence the world. Now, with Epic, our focus is to help raise up the next generation of Asian-American leaders, who will be equipped to impact their family, community, church, and the world with the message of God’s love and forgiveness. Darrin and I dream of the day when the voice and leadership of godly Asian Americans infiltrates every facet of society. We dream of our kids and their kids finding a wide array of godly Asian-American leaders and role models. We also see incredible potential for sending Asian Americans into the mission field all around the world. Most Asian-Americans, like me, are bicultural, so they have grown up learning to contextualize and operate in two different worlds. Asian-American believers often fare better as missionaries in international, cross-cultural settings.

Our ministry is funded by churches, individuals and families who partner with us in helping bring the message of hope and healing to a hurting world.

MY REVIEW
Warrior in Pink by Vivian Mabuni is a true story of Vivian’s fight against breast cancer. It is very inspiring and uplifting. She tells how she got through it with having a wonderful supporting family and many, many friends. She didn’t stay away and by herself with the cancer. She let people help her and get her through all of the pain and heartache.
Through all of this Vivian keeps her trust and faith in God. She fights and lets God and others help her. This dear lady has such strength and courage and never gives up. If you or someone you know has cancer this book is one they should read. I highly recommend it.
